Hi all,

My laundry tub has a single mixer type tap on it for water (it has two other handles for hot and cold to the washing machine).

It looks a lot like this one: https://www.plumbingplus.co.nz/products/aquatica-aquatica-laundratubbie/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw6s2IBhCnARIsAP8RfAiyuq3D775o8DOPYBwDOBoa3V8aVnVj5HxTfGrEWtz1dJSpfVk5RKEaArt-EALw_wcB

The mixer is leaking and is pretty old so I think it may need a new mixer and not just a washer or two.

Are these the same as a regular kitchen mixer tap? With a bracket thingy you have to tighten from underneath?

Because my mixer looks extremely hard to get at from underneath. I can’t even see the underside of it because the downward bulge of the sink is in the way. In addition to the left of the tub is a washing machine and on the right the tub is hard up against a wall.

How on earth is a plumber going to get at it?

Never mind! Turns out with the right tool it takes 10 minutes. Had the plumber around!

Mixers I've bought in the last few years have included a plastic tube spanner to undo the securing nut(s). The rest of it is working by feel as the actress said to the Bishop. If you are lucky the existing mixer might use a common ceramic cartridge.

What size tube wrench fits mixer taps? I want one! When we DIYed our present kitchen mixer it would have been a heck of a lot easier with a tube wrench.
