I have generally bought the cheap and nasty sprayers from Mitre10 for around $10.  The nozzles are bad, and their lifespan is generally less than a year.  But they did the jobs I needed them for.

I would like to get a better sprayer.  I want to get one with a wand, and preferably one that has a long spray distance and/or an extendable wand.  I'd like to spray my roof and stay further away from the edges than I can with the cheap ones, and I am starting to wet and forget (technically i use an off brand equiv) and want to spray the high sides of our 2.5 story building.  Not sure if I care if its hand held or backpack style, the backpack style would be good for my roof to save me pulling it up with a rope, but its only once a year.

Wet and forget sell one for between $150-$250 depending on the size, and for $50 there's a 3m extension wand too.  But I have no idea around the quality of their units.

I'm after suggestions for a quality unit that has a spray stream that will reach or at least a usable extension nozzles.   I want one that will last, and possibly one that will have replacement components like nozzles if that breaks in the future.

All advice appreciated

A friend had a Milwaukee backpack sprayer that was very impressive with its rate it would put out and spray distance. Wasn't that cheap tho. Ryobi list one as well now and normally they do pretty well with the ones they copy from the milwaukee range, but I did see on the page for it that it says not to use with bleach or bleach like sprays which I dont know is them just covering themselves for failures if it happens or is a sure fire way to kill the thing like bleach thru a waterblaster is.

The other option is the bottle that goes on the end of the waterblaster like you use for car cleaning - at least those are cheap. I think the karcher one at bunnings is about $30 or so, and as thats not putting the liquid thru the pump its fine with bleach which is how another friend does their driveway with pool chlorine in the bottle and spray away.

My father was a big fan of Solo sprayers - he used backpack ones, but they also do handheld. I don't believe they ever had the drip problems the cheap-as ones I've bought before.

The Hills branded garden sprayers at M10 etc look pretty much identical to the $10 cheap ones, same design etc - almost as if they'd come out of the same factory at a glance.  But they have much better quality seals and fittings, nozzles, valves and pumps.  I've done my FIL's tiled roof with a 5 litre one - sure a backback sprayer would be the way to go if it was going to be a regular thing or you had another use for it, but to do one roof, I'd save my money.  No problems squirting a couple of metres.

Have had one like that for 5+ years, still works fine.

I think half the problem with cheapies is when you use emulsifiable concentrate pesticides etc, the solvent in the mix destroys the seals etc very fast.

I haven’t used mine yet, but given I already had a battery ryobi drill and skill saw, I bought the ryobi 7.5l one. Sprayed some water around with it as a test. Way better than my hand pump.

Weather being good this weekend I’m wanting to weed spray my lawn. And courtyards

I've got a Ozito powered sprayer which has a reasonable reach and is battery powered (18v PXC). It's rather pleasant to just walk around and spray without pumping.

That's 2 votes for this brand, which is promising.

How far can you spray it?  I need to wet and forget the side of my 2.5 story house, so I guess I need it in stream style rather than wide spray.   I see they have extensions too.

Not that far in a spray that would be effective.  be fine on your roof and anything your height and a bit higher.

For the second story it sounds like an applicator with the hose maybe better suited for the walls

Another vote for a Solo sprayer from me! But its probably not the right tool for the job, I'm not sure any backpack sprayer is.
