Saw a Keter Resin shed at Mitre10 over the weekend. Looks rather nice and felt sturdy. Does anybody on the forum have one? I'm interested in long-term durability and how it fares in wind (I'm in Wellington).

Although most reviews seems positive the ones on IS Amazon aren't great.

Thanks

We do, bought it second hand on trademe for $200
Not sure how old it is, I would say st least 5 years old, but still good condition, very sturdy.
One of the corner things around the bottom of the door broke off when the lawnmower went past it as probably brittle.

I would buy another if they were cheaper

We have this one, and we use it for bike storage

Thanks, $200 is a good deal. The one I'm looking at is around $4K. Hence a bit apprehensive.

I currently have a "tin shed" which is okay but after 5 years it's started rusting and the condensation is crazy.

$4K? Heck, the Cedar shed I have on order is about that delivered. That must be a rather large resin shed!

How big? Where from? I looked at the wooden ones from TradeTested but they are still $4k

We’ve got a small $800 one that stores a couple of bikes and some outdoor stuff.

We put it on some concrete slabs and it’s been faultless.

Must’ve had it for close to 6-7 years and the only thing that has “gone wrong” is that the brown roof has faded in the sun. It sits on the North-west side of the property, so is exposed to the elements 24/7 and has been excellent.

They have a built in floor, so if they are full of stuff, they're no more likely to get blown away than a tin shed, really.

Thanks @Stu good to know they are still standing after that long!

Exactly J :D - they look pretty sturdy and they weigh several hundred kg's so should be okay.

The built in floor is awesome but the assembly videos dont explictly show the walls being screwed down (they just show them clicking into the floor). The one Im looking at appears to have some kind of lip on the floor so perhaps the wall is screwed into the floor along the edges. @Handsomedan are your walls secured to the floor?

Thanks for the heads up. Im used to the https://www.duratuf.co.nz/ sheds which have wooden internal structure and its bolted to a concrete where as I didnt think bolting to the ground was possible with these.

Yes - the walls are secured to the floor (but I can't honestly remember how). Ours also has the lip at the front and that may be a standard feature, due to the type of construction - being a coreflute type of material, they would crush at the edge if they weren't reinforced by a metal lip.

The only other thing to note is that if you put them on grass, or near grass, a weedeater will whip the plastic and could split it - I have seen this happen on a friend's small box-style one, which was located on teh edge of the garden.
