Hi,

Any idea what a conservatory add on would cost using a builder? Attached to front door wall, wooden frame rectangle ( 2sides as one side is against a perpendicular brick wall, one side is the side of the house with the door), single glaze glass sides, door, zinc roof, bit of spouting, vynal plank floor approx 10 square metres? Happy to paint it myself.

pretty much a frame with a door, floor, roof and glassed sides. Replacing a rotten one.

Thanks!

I think that might be hard to estimate right now. There are shortages and price increases for a lot of building supplies. I'm working on getting an extra small room added to my house and so far the estimates are high and I suspect by the time it actually gets built the cost might have gone up again.

I'm looking for a ballpark figure at current prices. :)

We had a conservatory build in our UK home in 2000 using my millennium bonus (those were the days!). We used a crude estimate of 1000 pounds (sterling) for each diagonal foot and had a 15 foot diagonal conservatory build using the best materials available and the final figure was about 18,000 pounds.

Don't know how you calculate a meaningful estimate that adjusts for inflation, metrication and the change of country. Good luck.

I was hoping for 12k max. Basic wooden frame structure with a roof, a door and single pane glass that doesn’t have to open. Oh and a ply floor with vinyl. Or even paint. It's looking very unlikely. Might just have to remove the rotten one and do without which will suck.

Seems freezer panel roofs are what a lot are doing now .  Getting harder to find conservatory manufacturers as alu. joinery companies have to get engineer involved to get earthquake design type stuff done.

We are just starting looking a custom aluminium moveable-louvre pergola - 2.1 x 5.1 m (~ 10 m2) to go on an existing deck. Two posts - one in each outer corner and fixed to the house on the inboard side. With no sides or blinds yet priced-in, the indication is $1,300 per m2 - say $15,000 all up. HTH.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I’m going to get the old one taken off and see if we can live without. Might have to add back the small roof that was there from original.

We also wanted the same thing to cover just part of our 7m by 6m deck but knew is would cost far too much. So, we went with a circular umbrella with a radius of the cloth being 3.5m. this has been positioned to cover almost anywhere on our deck for the bargain price of under $3,000.
