Hi everyone

I'm looking for a digger + operator in Christchurch for a very basic job - spreading topsoil around a flat section. It's only couple of hours of work so I'm hesitant to go around asking for a proper quote.

And yes, I did consider hiring one and giving it a go. But my experience is limited to going in circles around a farm. Not sure I trust myself around fences/buildings/decking.

So if you have a digger sitting around and know how to use it, could be easy beer money.

Let me know if anyone's keen.

Cheers

in Wellington (Porirua) I've found that almost everyone charges around $90+GST for a digger, or $110+GST for a digger+truck (single operator), and the key differences were availability and experience - the topsoil provider may be able to recommend a good operator.

Try Builders Crack. List exactly what the job entails and you'll likely get a few takers who'll disclose their going rate on the first contact, so no mucking around making phone calls, chasing quotes etc.

Thanks mate, appreciate the info.

Also, finally invested in a decent wheelbarrow (aka not the cheapest one you can find). What a difference. It's like gliding around the yard.

Good idea, ended up going with that. Had forgotten Builderscrack is good for small jobs and only those interested contact you.
