Two questions related to master filter install.

I used scotchlok for a few things it's easy and convenient and super reliable with a thumb press. If there is something else I can use? I probably will.

Second problem is where to get these or similar on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday. My Google Fu has not revealed any at Bunnings, M10 or PB so far.

Edit: Found something under Quick Connect at Jaycar. For me that's a long way from the usual chain stores.

Electrical wholesalers should have them. If you're lucky they might be open until early afternoon on a Saturday.

Ideal / Coreys / Stuarts electrical

If your in hawkes bay i can give you some.

Scotchloks are rated for cat5 standard, are sealed with dielectric grease and so protect the joint against corrosion.

You need to use the proper tool or at least a pair of large fat pliers to press lock them rather than just your thumb otherwise the connection wont be good and the teeth might not correctly cut into the insulation on the cable.
