I am replacing a retractable clothes line which is supported by timber.    I have a hills brand one from mitre 10 and it says you need 4 M8 masonary anchors 10 mm diameter.  Now, I thought masonary referred to concrete, so was a bit confused, and am not sure what to buy.  Is there a reason they have specifically stated the word masonary?

they only sell them with masonry anchors, it you want to attach it to something else you need to get the fixings yourself.

I installed a Hills folding one and it was the same deal.

Sorry, the line did not come with any fastners, so you need to buy them.  On the box it says 4 M8 masonary anchors, and I was wondering if it assumes you will be attaching it to a concrete post, or do the masonary anchors work in timber to?
