I have these 1990s Dorf taps but cannot see how to remove the handles. Maybe there is something behind that gold thing on the side but I cannot see how to remove that.
Any ideas?

I have a feeling that these handles pull directly upwards, and that it's held on via friction on a splined shaft of the valve underneath.
Please note that I have zero experience with these taps except for using similar ones, so don't take my word as gospel!
This is what I'm picturing the valve underneath to look like, or something close to it.
I had tried a few times at 'pulling' one off but obviously not pulling hard enough! Thanks Mehrts!...
