Our ensuite is on the South end of the house. We're in Blenheim so unchlorinated water (because it's so clean). The water pipe from the vanity grows moss, which makes the ensuite smell, well mossy. It only grows close to the plug hole.

Any tips for eradication?

I currently I control it with a combination of physical removal with a metal skewer followed by Draino. But it keeps coming back.

I suspect that you need to actually kill it to its roots otherwise it’s likely to grow back again.

So its on the basin "side" of the "U bend"?

If that the case than take the U bend apart and physically clean out all the moss, then soak the pipes in a bucket of bleach for a day.... that should slow it down...

I use something like this on the lawn. But it's marked "harmful to aquatic life".

Yep, on the basin side of the U bend. I'll give this a try.
