Am I missing something? Both say 4m or 4000mm.

I need this to create an under driveway conduit for Chorus fibre cable... is this the right product?

Still looking for the surface box/lid to put at each end of the concrete driveway...

While there is a 'Marley brand tax', it may also be sturdier than the Bunnings cheapie.  It might be worth eyeballing the two if convenient.  We've had too many hassles with clienta unable to have new fibre blown into a building due to collapsed underground conduit and it creates massive hassles getting it sorted.

The Bunnings one will work for what you need, I just buried 6.5m of their 25mm conduit, for an outside power socket. It's actually got a thicker wall than the Marley one. I also used some for routing my fridge water filter hose under the floor, made the job much easier.
I use the Marley PVC solvent cement for the joins and haven't had any issues.

Yep.. Marley is an absolute rip off. I have a bunch of the cheap grey deta stuff and it's perfectly fine.

Clearly you're paying extra for the "high gloss finish" and "colour match". I don't see those critical features on the Deta. 😁

Shouldn't it be green for fibre? Orange is power.

Yeah, fibre needs to be in green. I think only electrical wholesalers stock it and in theory they're supposed to restrict it to approved installers, which basically means any electrician or data tech that walks in the door.

They don't seem to enforce it very strictly because the earthmoving guy who put ours in definitely wasn't an approved installer, I assume he pointed out to them that he's the guy who runs the digger and therefore needs to put it in, not the sparkie who'll be along eight months later.

Overall it's a rather stupid requirement because, unless the guys putting it in are the Chorus installers, who will in any case staple it to a fence if they can rather than having to do any digging, it's pretty much never going to be the installer dropping it in but the guy with the digger.

My concern with putting in orange conduit is that the installers may decide they don't want to run fibre through it if it's indicating it's a power conduit.

Should be green for data, orange for power and blue for water. Anyone can buy any of them but some places only stock orange. The chorus contractor told me he’ll put the cable in anything from green or orange conduit to saw cuts to dirt.

I purchased some cheap guttering from a local supplier and was surprised to find it was more rigid and much easier to install than Marley. If I can DIY, I'm using the cheap stuff from now on.

The Chorus team that did our fibre install were happy to have a mix of grey electrical conduit and grey NZPO conduit. Anything but water pipe. I asked because I had surplus blue MDPE that looked similar to the Chorus green pipe in the street.

My concern with using a cheap product that is exposed to the sun is that it will degrade very quickly due to the UV exposure. I would be asking about the UV stability of the product.

If it's being hit by UV levels that can penetrate the required 450mm of soil covering it then there's bigger things to worry about than the conduit degrading.

This post was talking about guttering, so I assume that it is above ground.
