Our 10-15 year old F&P 2 drawer dishwasher is triggering our fuses all of a sudden.

I've heard it's better to just replace dishwashers though, rather than muck around with them.

It's def the dishwasher as have tried it on different circuits with extension cord and other appliances in its usual socket.

Any advice?

When it hit about 10 years old our Bosch dishwasher needed a new handle... then a new seal... then a new something else I forget what. From memory it cost about $450 for those repairs, compared with about $3000 for a new one... not too bad but the whole thing could fail at any time. Then the racks coating started to come off, they were $300, so we got some silicone tips from Amazon instead. My opinion is it's probably better to buy a new one, though I'm not an expert so don't put too much weight in my opinion.

It will cost just to get someone to come and diagnose.

Then the cost of proposed fixes - if viable.

I don't know the odds of it being a cheap/simple fix - you never know.

It's getting older - so as mentioned above - what else might start breaking.

Looks like a double dish drawer is ~$2000.

Is it better to put the money towards a new dishwasher?

Thanks guys, I am leaning towards a new one also. This looks like a goer https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/whiteware/quiet-appliances/fisher-and-paykel-14-place-setting-double-dishdrawer-stainless-steel.html

Was it fuse/breaker going or RCD tripping?

Bung: Was it fuse/breaker going or RCD tripping?

The RCD goes first and then I isolated to one of the "smaller fuses" (a MCB?)

Maybe a faulty heating element?

Dishdrawer parts are easy to get, and not horridly expensive.

I've replaced a few parts in ours over the 12 years I've had it (cutlery baskets, a new handle etc.) none were what I'd call extortionate 'spare car parts' prices.

I take it the unit itself is not throwing an error code?

I'd still talk to an F&P repairer.
