Many of us have 3D printers and I am sure some will be happy to help. What are you wanting to print?

might pay to state where you are located
afe66: As part of the discussion I wonder if ppl could comment on how much fiddling needed with their machine to work vrs the machine just works..
Mine is pretty stable. Took a whole lot of learning at the start but right now I can pretty much start a print with little effort.

I have an Anycubic Mono 4K. It didn't really take much fiddling at all. Remove from box, level the build plate (which is very simple) and run the included test print. The fiddling comes in the software. The standard settings will produce a decent print but you'll want to fiddle with them to get best efficiency. Then you'll want to learn how to use your slicer to add print supports.
Depends where you are and what you are wanting to print.
I had a small part for a food processor that I wanted printing.

I am in Auckland and GZ users suggested the Auckland library.

So I sent the image file to them, they said they had to make a minor 'adjustment' and when I picked it up they had printed 2 pieces. Cost me $6.
Took a week or thereabouts.
I was stoked. Required a small amount of sanding to remove the marks from the printing - but nothing difficult at all.

Local library's seem to have them to "rent"

Main issue for my Ender seems to be :
1) Bed leveling, I use a glass bed so this needs to be accurate. Also preheating bed before printing helps with adhesion
2) Replacing the filament where it always breaks at the extruder end of the bowdon tube when the printer has not been used for a few weeks.
3) Forgetting the password to Octoprint 😒
