I have recently purchased a Magmate 180 Mig welder. I would appreciate it if anyone had any information on this, a manual or circuit diagram would be very helpful or suggestions as to where to search. I've found plenty on the replacement model but nothing about this one.
Many thanks,
Geoff.

you would need to post a pic of it as there is different models with the same name.

i doubt you will find much info as boc never releases it. they are considered cheap and disposable.

what problem are you trying to fix?

Thanks for your reply, it's a non inverter model with large heavy transformers and inductor in it. The only "Electronics" are a the main rectifier diodes and a small bridge rectifier for the wire drive motor, just the way I like it. The front panel controls are a six position current selector and a wire speed control, nice and simple.

I don't have any problems but I would like to put a separate wire drive switch for wiring up and a circuit diagram would make this easier, all of the internal wiring is numbered so I can make my own diagram is need be.

Thanks, Geoff.

I can find the BOC Smootharc MIG 180 LCD welder  and the Magmate 140 MMA Welder on the BOC website. Both are inverter models. I can't find your "Magmate 180 Mig welder" listed on their site.

Do you have the part number so that I can ask the relevant team for documentation?

Even this MagMate 180P seems to be the inverter model.

good luck with that. i doubt they ever had service manuals. let alone kept it for the last 30 years or so.

its also not really needed as those old things are so basic. its fairly simple job to put a feed switch in.

No part number, it just says Magmate 180 with an 8 digit serial number, and made in Europe.
