Parent's old F&P dishwasher died and they are looking to replace, in the budget to low mid-range price , certainly something well below $1000.

Seen some good reviews of Beko brand.

Any recommendations, strirctly in the sub $1000 price range?

If you're in Wellington I could sell them a fisher paykel double dish drawer, used but only for about 1 year. Still has the plastic on the front of it to peel off. It got replaced by a different colour dish drawer after renovations :D.

Suggest checking out PriceSpy to see how regularly models go on sale and where. F&P often go on sale and I writing never pay the full normal price. But I don’t rate their dishwashers from personal experience as poor at drying

We have a few year old Bosch dishwasher,. Not sure the exact model but its faultless. Cleans well, and pretty quiet. Doesn't have bells and whistles like auto opening doors, but its been awesome.

I've got a Bosch series 6. New would be well outside your budget but 2nd hand could be an option. It washes well, is quiet, and I could never go back to anything without a cutlery draw.  However, if you've got kids and wash loads of plastic cups and plates, then get something with a drying fan/capability. The series 9 has it.

We have friends with a Beko, not sure what model. It's lasted 5+ years and counting. Nothing special but they rate how well it cleans - and they don't pre-wash their dishes.

We have a Beko. Bought on price (got a deal through work).

It's been absolutely fine - just over 2 years use now. My only gripe is that it doesn't remember what your last program was, so I have to set it every time. This is a gripe with many of the newer 'cheaper' appliances (our washing machine doesn't remember spin speed/temp settings either).

Thanks Stu1, yes bad timing indeed, not much competition and sales (and probably stock) at the moment.

Thanks for the other replies and input, a Beko at a lower price point would probaby be the best bet.
