Hi

Need to install aircon in a chch based property, looking at ducted systems plus ventilation for a modern 3 bedroom home.

Also need to install Alarm system.

Looking for feedback on installers / suppliers please.  There are a number who exist, but i know with ducted its a bit more of an art form as a poorly designed system will have poor outcomes with overly noisy vents and returns.  So looking for experienced people who account for things like noise and air flow.

If you have feedback on painters and carpet suppliers i'll take that aswell :)

Thanks

Greg

We used ATL. There was a number of issues after installation, not really anything major, but they came back and fixed them all without any fuss from their side.

Overall, largely happy with how the system works. Their price was also very sharp.

Our ducted heatpump installer works for himself and his work was great and pricing was cheaper than the main companies in town.

Can send you a PM with his details if you like?

We had a Mitsubishi ducted system put in and incorporated with our existing heat recovery ventiallation system/

We got three quotes for daughter's alarm system earlier this year. Mainland Security, Ross Galt, and another outfit that shall remain nameless.

Mainland and Galt's quotes were fairly similar. Bosch or Paradox.

We went with a Paradox pet proof system from Mainland. Pete was good to deal with, and they did a good job of the installation.

The batteries went flat in the remote garage IR sensor after a few months, and they were around the same day to replace them.

We used Beatties for our non-ducted heat pumps. Tidy installations and good aftersales service.

Just to add to this, i reached out to the BDT and Daikin for recommendations on installers that have Ducted Experience, understand Air Flow, static pressure etc integration of ERV / HRV systems.  I got the regular two names ( Gavin Lowe and Hartnell )..

I'm ideally looking for HVAC engineer type installers so really keen to hear from any experts here.   i know the costs of a poorly designed ducted system is expensive to resolve,. so want to get it right, and whilst im not saying the suggested companies cant do it, i do want to speak to others who focus more on ducted than general Hi Wall installs.

Thanks
