I attended a presentation last week about the proposal to increase the default export limit to 10kw.

Informative.

Lets all make submissions to make this happen.

Tēnā koutou

Thank you for your interest in our webinar last Thursday where we discussed our proposals to make export limits more efficient. The aim of these proposals is to help maximise the benefits from local electricity generation.

If you missed the webinar, or would like a recap, the video recording and slidepack are now available.

We invite you to read the consultation paper and share your feedback on our proposals before 5pm, Wednesday 19 November. The consultation paper and details on how to make a submission are here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch.

Thanks again for your interest.

I am hoping that the increase can be approved soon so I avoid having to restrict the power I pump into the grid.

Here is an example from today. The blue line (power generated) has been reduced to cope with my decrease in demand (red line) so I have ' lost ' the power that could otherwise have been exported.

I have automated my battery so it discharges between 7am and 9:30am and then recharges from the excess solar during the day.

Of course this only works in the sunnier months.
