Looking for a recommendation for a roofer to Re-nail Long run roofing in Christchurch.
Got nails where the washer is rusting.
Seems the answer is remove them and replace with screws.
Cheers

Yip, Tek screws, with rubber washers will be what every contractor will tell you...
They deliver a superior result....
I can't recommend roofer in ChCh but ... it's an easy job to DIY if you're comfortable working on a roof. You need a hammer, a broomstick* and a cordless drill with a hex-bit. If you know the colour of your roof, you should be able to get screws with heads that match.
The broomstick is used to leverage against to remove the nails, not for flying up onto the roof.

I would caveat that with the possible impact on your house insurance if you have a leaky roof as a result, which isn't discovered till the first downpour.
It's very easy to overtighten TEK screws with rubber washers.
Won't be doing it myself. Got too old for clambering on the roof.
Just looking to see if anyone had any recommended roofers.

I would put a job like this on Builders Crack. Be specific about what you want done, when and with photos. Wait for the tradies to come through and look thoroughly at their profiles.
I am suggesting Builders Crack because this is the kind of job a roofer probably wouldn't do, especially in summer when it's all big jobs. More of a secondary job, kinda handyman or plumber.
Are you sure it’s longrun?
You shouldn’t see any nails on long run roofing iron
^ We've just had our roof replaced, and the old roof was long-run fastened with nails. Not sure when most roofs moved to screws, but it used to be all nails.
We’ve had this done on a previous property. Those screws are not cheap and you need thousands of them.
