I'm looking for a shower gel dispenser of some kind to stick on the shower wall. Preferably a suction one. Probably a single one to start with.

Yeah realistically the family could use one for shampoo and everything but then we would have like.. a lot. I see there are some multi things around but I haven't bumped into one. That kind of thing would have to be simple to keep clean or it would be junk.

No luck in the usual places I've dropped into Kmart, Warehouse, and random online searching.

I think you maybe pushing the proverbial here, especially with a suction cup fitting.

There will be the 1kg weight of the gel bottle ( or 800g), plus the pressure of the pump nozzle being pressed..

Test using a set of kitchen or bathroom scales. Zero with no weight, add the bottle and push pump.

It's quite a weight for the suction cup to hold.

Good point. Not necessarily in the original bottle that was always a long shot.

This company supplies motels and hotels…

I see this type or similar in many places I stay.   Some are actually using the 3M tape to mount (not the junk found on shelf at Bunnings either), I’m sure it’s the mounting tape used by sign writers.

anyhow…

Try these from Bunnings, they are suction based but they definitely stick on and come off without a mark if need be.  Fusion-Loc Black Matte Suction Liquid Soap Dispenser - Bunnings New Zealand

Have a look at below links. They all works by pressing horizontally against the wall thus wouldn't put strain on wall-dispenser attachment system.

This double side tape is very sticky & hard to remove.
Although it said for exterior use I haven't test it in wet/humid environment e.g. shower.

Make sure you clean & dry shower wall surface from dirt & soap scum before stick it. Surface must be smooth & glossy. Don't sand it. You need to wash & dry your hand before touching the sticky side, otherwise the oily fingerprint will affect its stickiness.

Try a company that supplies motels.  Lots of motels seem to have dispensers in the shower now.  I stay in motels a lot and I'm yet to see one fall off.

Ah. I have a roll holder the same brand. Still on the wall after a couple of years doing well and beating all previous contenders.

I'll go take a look. That one looks like 200-300ml and not excessive, the 500ml capacity are probably too much. That one looks like it could solve my immediate daily problem. I'll go take a look.

Adding a few more, if it works, is going to take up a lot of space though. Three would probably be ok - but I suspect there will be demand for five which is going to get messy.

That could work. Looks like a lot of edges and crannies that could be a cleaning nightmare. It's unclear to me if that is exclusively corner mount, which I probably don't really want, like in the example pictures.
