Hello there I have had an ongoing problem for ages with TVNZ Ondemand repeatedly timing out. Sometimes it seems to coincide with ad breaks, otherwise random. I'm on VDSL and have plenty of bandwith available according to Speedtest. Am watching on a chromecast via iphone. Have been through several software upgrades, it doesn't make any difference. Can't find anything on the TVNZ website. Anyone got any ideas?

Same here, I am on Fibre, maybe it's a bug on TVNZ on demand app?

I used to have lots of problems with my original Chromecast but since upgrading to the Ultra never had an issue. Also on VDSL..

Oh perfect, was going to upgrade anyway. Are you running your Ultra on ethernet or wifi?

I've got similar issues using TVNZ On Demand in a browser. I'm sometimes logged out switching programs.

TVNZ responded with  the following

The reason for this is because browser security has increased to limit the ability of applications to track user activity over long periods. The rules that browsers enforce include limiting how long we keep the token that stores login information.

If you have been logged out from the TVNZ OnDemand viewers website, it is most likely to have been in one of the following scenarios:

  • If you have closed and reopened your browser
  • If you have TVNZ OnDemand open in your browser, but you have not viewed it in the last three or more days
  • If you have been logged in for a period of greater than thirty days

Lots of issues reported with TVNZ On demand, according to some of the comments on their FB page.

I've had major issues with buffering when viewing on my Windows 10 PC or when I try Chromecasting. All other streaming services seem to be going OK. TNNZ have put up the generic "our engineers are aware and working on a solution'. Interestingly, my watching it through the App on my Sony smart TV is fine.

The great frustration of streaming services: lack of reliability.
