New Zealand not mentioned. Doesn’t look impressive to me anyway.

Only available Netflix basic (says goes to 720p but I thought basic was SD only)

30 second ad breaks with 4 to 5 minutes an hour. My opinion that is to many starts and stops to viewing,

Around $3 US cheaper then without adds.

Also no downloads on any basic plan.

I see the twitter poll in article has 87% going nah.

No-one bothers to read further into articles.

90% of the comments on the original story going to social media was people saying 'That's it I'm cancelling' Or, 'we'll I'll be cancelling then...'

Like.. no, you won't. If you are paying the current price now, you're going to keep paying for it. Not going to suddenly want to pay less then moan about ads and then cancel. RTFM people!

I like how they put out a subtle hint last week to prepare for clampdown. With the ability to migrate other family members watch list/preferences to another *new* account should the need arise.

Like.. no, you won't. If you are paying the current price now, you're going to keep paying for it. Not going to suddenly want to pay less then moan about ads and then cancel.

In the US, Disney are pricing their ad-supported tier the same as the current ad-free price. If you want to keep ad-free, you have to pay more. So those people would be justified in their thinking in the case of Disney+.

I do yearly at moment Disney +, if they up price to much, I’ll probably just have it on 3-4 months a year, with monthly price, if they do same ad method as Netflix.

I’d rather have 2 minute ad breaks with three lots of them in around 50 minutes, then over 10 lots of breaks 15 to 30 seconds each.

I haven’t had Netflix on for about 8 months. Will probably have it on 2 to 3 months a year at full price, their ad model wouldn’t interest me even if it was free. Pretty sure TVNZ doesn’t have that many ad breaks, reason don’t watch much there though is no Dolby digital.

Disney plus on subscriptions on iPhone is showing two plans at $14.99 a month (they look like same plan so not sure why second one showing) and yearly plan of $149.99.

If that is the new prices for next year without ads I’ll sub for another year. My current plan expires around February.

Pihole is not a magical solution; some sites i've seen refuse to continue playback until the ad has its 'impression' or whatever it is. So you wind up permitting the ad server.

No signature to see here, move along...
