Nope you can't NZmate. I use a smart DNS so I get full speed from the site without the overheads of a VPN plus as its replaced my router DNS I can access any site in the world (not fully tested!) that doesn't require a sub and watch tv :-) I'm not proud per se as it is clearly breaking many terms and conditions but at least its in HD and I get lots of sports!
Ok so despite all the bad reviews I decided to give this PLP a try.
Using the android app on my tablet resulted in a truly horrible experience, significantly worse than any stream which can be found on firstrow.eu etc. The max bitrate available was 1600kbps, yet sadly it never seemed to ran at that rate. Words can't describe the blur I was looking at, needless to say the iconia a500 won't be turned into my EPL streaming device.
Using a laptop with 1080P screen was a mixed bag. The 3000kbps stream was significantly better than any free stream you can find online, or isky for that matter. When the camera wasn't panning the image quality was near perfect, however during periods of fast motion the jerkiness came through very clearly.
I'll have to try it on the TV to get a feel for what it's like viewing from further away, I suspect the quality will seem better, but the jerkiness might be hard to miss.
Not having SKY, or spending enough time in front of the TV to want to subscribe to it, this is an improvement over not seeing many/any EPL matches. Now if only they streamed the F1, then my TV viewing needs would be complete given I already have hulu sussed.

having had hd sky and now the plp picture wise its an obvious back step. I can dig what csm are trying to do but to come into the market and offer a service which to lots of people is the equivalent of lego men running around on a level of minecraft surely cant be defendable.
the way the csm have pushed their product has raised my eyebrows too. terms like "basically" broadcast quality and "upto" 3000kps should have someone at the commerce commision asking some questions.
as for the expense of the product this 40c a game lark is just clever marketing talk. to watch a game that you can actually make out you have to use the 3000kps and realisticly we need a 4500 option. my plan is 70 for 30gb whixh im sure is what the average nzer has. I dont know where this average of 1gb a game from but to make it watchable I used at least three. all of a sudden its 7.90 a game when you add the data. funnily enough csm make no mention of this hidden cost.
I have also downloaded the app. 1600 kps max when their help guide tells you you can connect via yr smart phone or tablet to yr tv is a just noy going to work.
I have a s3 and an all share cast dongle and a brand new 50 inch tv. I streamed the americas cup and that was watchable while the football is not.
the laptop is better but still not great but why advertise this service as being able to use yr smart device when it clearly is awful.
I would love to see this work and I dont care how but to test it on the football just make me mad. I dont ask for much in this world, all I want is to watch my football on my tv and to be able to see whats going on. I have re signed to sly for I can watch the delayed coverage of my team but the 35 hours delayed coverage means I either wear a sack over my head for a day and enough or I watch lego vs minecraft at 3am!

I too had sky hd - primarily to watch my team and EPL in the best quality available. I cancelled sport as soon as this announcement was made. I was keen ! I bought the hdmi cable, I ran the power cable around the dog beds, put the laptop on the floor, plugged all together, turned off the sound system and adjusted the video/audio settings on my tv tried to watch my team . I hung tough for the whole game but it was not enjoyable. Then I watched an episode of TOP gear on BBC Iplayer - glorious HD with minimal buffering issues .
I am angry that PLP have chosen to purchase very popular and restricted content (EPL) and then instead of innovating and delivering a superior product/experience , they chose to use a deficient delivery system.
I could support them if they were trying to something new ,different or difficult but they are NOT.
PLP seem to be opportunists interesting in making a (relatively) fast and easy buck with minimal effort They chosen to push all the difficulties/disadvantages onto the consumer (me) and I do not accept this!
My concern now is that if they do not have control over the apps, what else might they not have control over in the future? A concern of mine is that as Neulion are a US company, they are unlikely to produce anything that will not be usable in the US so MHEG-IC integration or perhaps support for other devices which may be more prevailent here.
I was honestly willing to give them a chance, but it seems more and more like a way to get in to the market at the expense of the user and hoping that the number of die hard fans (or small number of geeks) would be enough to get them over their subscription minimum.
Again, I can't see them offering a higher quality stream at the price you're already paying as they would have done so from the beginning if it was viable.

I agree completely here. they saw an opportunity and went for it. all power to them for that but you cant expect to offer a sub standard service and charge people for it.

Sorry but that is BS, they have contracted the delivery out to another company, and therefore it is solely their responsibility to ensure they get their contracted third party to fix the app issues.

This is an important observation about iPlayer as it could highlight some major deficiencies in the current distribution, at least for some people. For me, iPlayer seems to be served from Sydney (when I tried just now) and yet PLP is from within NZ. If the CDNs are working as PLP expect then I don't see why iPlayer should out perform PLP. However, I am still wary about the potential for PLP player to cause grief in the browser as some of the guys on Yellow Fever forum were saying they moved from Chrome to IE and the picture got a lot better. I have not had issues with Chrome but there are acknowledged problems with some Flash versions and earlier Chrome browsers. If your stream at times for PLP looks fine but breaks up at others then more likely to be distribution issues.

I doubt they see it this way and they want a viable business beyond a few trials that end with dissatisfaction. It does seem that the viewer has to find out the problems but I don't see how it could be done any other way. PLP released free day passes (with more for this weekend with one of the clubs) so I would imagine many people trying aren't handing money to PLP yet. Yes, it can be painful and disappointing, but without this feedback (and thank you for posting) how can they improve? They have partnered with NeuLion and I imagine have an expectation that the good experiences that have been reported with other streams, like the above comment about iPlayer and others in this forum about TVNZ OnDemand and NFL, would be available to their subscribers.
The issue I mentioned about the possibility of browser limitations is an example where the viewer has the hassle. It takes time to work through the options and confirm where the limitations lie. This is a "geek" forum so hopefully it isn't too onerous for many to get a good idea what might be wrong but that might mean finding how far relative streams have had to travel. If it is the distribution rather than individual subscriber issues (which is quite possible) PLP would like to know.
When I look at a demo stream I see POST messages going back every 30 seconds with stats on server being used and lost packets. I would have hoped that there was some way for the provider, in this case NeuLion, to gather than information and build a picture of how well the system is working in NZ. If they can do this it won't be instant. A telling point would be when a paid subscriber calls up to say they are having problems with PLP and yet other services stream fine whether they get pointed to a FAQ or whether there is the ability to diagnose what might be wrong.

Who? I thought neulion basically did all the technology side of things. Who did the apps?
I think he meant that Coliseum have contradicted the app issues out to neulion, which means Coliseum can stoll hold neulion to account if the apps they built aren't up to scratch. Neulion aren't the commanders.

I wasn't trying to double guess their business plan and I have no objection to entrepreneurs wanting to make money. My point is it generally not a good idea to alienate your existing customer base by making a (in my opinion poor ) product more difficult to consume compared to its predecessor There are many ways to test your product before releasing it to the market. Again this displays their lack of concern for the consumer!
I hate the program but I would love to see PLP pitching this product on Dragons Den
