Watched the new transfer of Total Recall yesterday. Definitely an upgrade from the old version, but don't expect miracles. This is a 1987 film after all.
Also, the "futuristic" vehicles are looking dated. Still, if you look past that, Its a great action movie, with Arnie in top form.

When Midway was originally released in Australasia, it was Blu-ray only both on disc and on iTunes, so I imported the US 4K disc release at great expense. Now its been upgraded to DV/DA on iTunes. Win some, lose some I guess π

The 4K tab on iTunes has been recently updated. Many more titles have been added. If you are only interested in buying 4K titles, then this is a good starting point.
Not all 4K titles are included yet (probably never will be) but its a big improvement to the old list

All films except Return of the King (Extended) in the The Lord of the Rings series (Theatrical/Extended) have now been upgraded to Dolby Vision/Dolby Atmos. I expect ROTK to upgrade, possibly today sometime.
All films in The Hobbit series have also been upgraded.
I reckon that $39.99 (Extended Editions) and $34.99 for the Theatrical Editions are good prices, compared to the 4K UHD Blu-ray releases.

I imported the 4K UHD Blu-ray set from the US. Its doubtful that they will be upgraded here because we have a different distributor for those movies in NZ. I thought that about Midway, and that has now upgraded.
Good price though, and hopefully they will upgrade in the future.

I've been reading on other forums of the problems people are having with receiving their Middle Earth discs.
SteelBooks arriving banged up, discs scratched, problems with delivery, ebay scalpers selling SteelBook Editions for $US500 (one seller has sold 11 at that price π²) and several users complaining about the Extended Editions being on two discs.
iTunes users get instant access after payment (much cheaper than disc), and don't have to switch discs (I would probably have to press pause anyway, for toilet and a cuppa coffee). Seems a no brainer to me. Even if the quality is slightly inferior to some people π
