I just two different emails within a few minutes of each other from Spark, letting me know of that!

Won't bars and pubs have to have the feed come into a device which then distributes it?
Stream doesn't have sync so the screens will quickly get out of sync with buffering etc.
Never mind the cheer from the pub down the road before it happens for you...
my expectation is a bar that has multiple screens would use one stream, and distribute it internally (be that an HDMI splitter, DVB-T muxer etc)
For a bar to say, we have 20 screens, and will buy 20 chrome casts to stream, that would be ugly.. plus then your talking Requiring minimum a 200mbit connection.. and Ethernet to those chromecasts (although they likely wouldnt be ultras so Wifi to provide 200mbit consistent throughput)
Do you know if this is a solution Spark is providing end to end with each commerical operation, or you guys say, HDMI Splitter, DVB-T Muxer and then leave them to it? (Genuine question).
I wasn't actually aware you could do the HDMI Splitter thing with a stream, I would have thought there would be handshake or copy protection issues (The name for this escapes me this second frustratingly).

It's the same as a bar that has a Sky decoder, or runs a quiz, they just use splitters. All they need to do is connect an AppleTV (or an AdroidTV box if available on them)to one of their inputs.
Some that will be simple for, others (say if they have old systems without HDMI inputs) there will need to be a bit of work done.

Exactly, Totally the same as already doing, If they have a decoder for every tv... they are doing it wrong.
Some bars with older gear might not have HDMI compatible gear though, so they might need to upgrade or they downscale it to rca(i would really hope not but it's the cheaper option)..
I can't comment on what Spark Offer commercially as I dont sit on that side of the fence.

Actually, when you pay for a Sky commercial install, it's quoted and supplied end to end, at least it was in the ventures I have been involved in. Sky support those installs so long as they aren't modified.
I forsee a lot of misery in a few months, if Spark is hands off in this regard, because inevetiably some will end up trying to cheap out, DIY and end up with a solution that doesn't work well. If things go wrong, there is going to be a lot of finger pointing and reputations will be damaged.

With the amount of cowboy crap i've seen out there... I would be surprised if that's the case...
Maybe sky are just Chorus 2.0 when it comes to commercial installs though? I've always found their residential installs good..

Well, as I say, in the ventures I've been involved with, including a couple of time share projects, Sky do everything. Any issues you call Sky, they send someone. I guess like everything, there are good eggs and bad, but if you pay Sky to install and their rep does a terrible job, they still send people out. I've never seen an issues that have been fobbed off on the commercial customer (Unless after they send someone onsite and they find the install was messed with in which case they simply quote for remediation, but in at least one case the tech just fixed it and left).
In my view Spark Sport should be handling commercial installs, particularly, in the same way. At the end of the day, whilst the bars and pubs will certainly have a hard time if they can't deliver the games to the guests, Spark Sport has the most to lose from it in my view. I don't see Spark being able to get away with saying "the stream was fine, it's your issue".
It's a huge undertaking, but one that at the time of fighting for the rights, should have been planned for.

I think they are taking a hands-off approach for commercial premises.
They have this dedicated web page for them. https://help.sparksport.co.nz/commercial-premises
Also they have this. https://downloads.sparksport.co.nz/get-match-fit.pdf Hmmm....Wonder where we've heard the "Get Match Fit" slogan before?
