Hank Thompson (Austin Butler) was a high-school baseball phenom who can't play anymore, but everything else is going okay. He's got a great girl (Zoë Kravitz), tends bar at a New York dive, and his favorite team is making an underdog run at the pennant. When his punk-rock neighbor Russ (Matt Smith) asks him to take care of his cat for a few days, Hank suddenly finds himself caught in the middle of a motley crew of threatening gangsters. They all want a piece of him; the problem is he has no idea why. As Hank attempts to evade their ever-tightening grip, he's got to use all his hustle to stay alive long enough to find out....

I'd just like to do a shout-out for Paramount Pictures and Disney.

Paramount consistently release their new digital films in the Apple Store for $24.99. Mission Impossible: The Final Chapter, The Naked Gun (2025), Top Gun: Maverick, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and A Quiet Place: Day One to name a few.

Disney, in many cases, also price their blockbuster films at $24.99. Guardians of the Galaxy Trilogy, The Avengers Quadrilogy and Pixar films such as Elemental and Inside Out 2. As Disney no longer release physical media in Australasia (and some other countries). this is a much cheaper, and convenient way to have a collection of Disney films at your fingertips, as opposed to importing expensive physical media products.

Warner Bros. (The Conjuring: Last Rites) and Universal (Jurassic World Rebirth), to name just two; release their mainstream films for $34.99, usually reducing to $24.99 when the physical media option hits stores. If these studios want digital media to be successful, give us a fair price.

There is always the option to wait for the inevitable price reduction, but most home movie buffs want to see their favourite films, before the next blockbuster becomes available.

Just to add to my above post. I see that The Fantastic 4: First Steps from Kevin Feige productions, which is part of the Disney/Marvel Universe; is actually at $34.99, so all Disney films are not included as I previously thought ... boo!

I enjoyed F1: The Movie as a rental from the Apple Store and I am planning on adding it to my Apple/iTunes library when the price is right. But, anyone with an Apple TV+ subscription can watch it for free from December 12th.

As a Warner Bros./Apple distribution collaboration, it was always going to become an Apple Original when it came to streaming. I have tried lot's of streaming combinations at various times, including Disney Plus, Netflix, Apple TV+, Spotify, Apple Music and You Tube premium, but I have never been totally satisfied as to value for money. Soon (when my free trial of Apple Music subscription finishes), I am going to subscribe to Apple One (I might even get a free trial), which includes, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and 50Gb of iCloud storage (can be upgraded up to 2Tb for a little more), for a total of $29.95 (family plan is $39.95) per month. This price equates to a saving of $20.66 per month on individual subscriptions.

As I am on the subject of Apple TV+; Apple are to re-brand the service to Apple TV (no+). While it's certainly a cleaner look, it will also make things even harder to distinguish within Apple's streaming repertoire. Apple TV can now refer to one of three things: the streaming service, the digital store where you can buy or rent films and TV shows, or the streaming box that you connect to your TV via HDMI. Apple TV (the streaming service 😁) is also getting a fresh new logo (see below). 

Finally, exciting news (rumour); the new 2025 Apple TV 4K could be released without fanfare, some time this month (October). Personally, I will be upgrading (early Christmas present to myself), as I resisted the temptation to upgrade to the last model.

Movies on sale in the Apple Store:

There is no set timeframe for how long a movie stays at a specific price like $4.99 on the Apple TV app, as prices change frequently. These sales happen weekly and can feature blockbusters, classics and various genres.

• Weekly sales: Apple frequently updates movie deals, on a weekly basis, meaning a $4.99 price is likely a limited-time promotion rather than a long-term price.
• Varying titles: The selection of movies on sale varies each week, so if you see a specific title at that price, it's best to purchase it if you are interested.

Violet, a widowed mother on her first date in years, who arrives at an upscale restaurant where she is relieved that her date, Henry, is more charming and handsome than she expected. She is instructed to tell nobody and follow instructions or the hooded figure she sees on her home security cameras will kill Violet's young son and babysitting sister. Violet must do exactly as directed or everyone she loves will die. Her unseen tormentor's final directive? Kill Henry.
