lokhor: Got it working on my ps3 this morning. only had time to check the quality of The Mighty Boosh and it seemed fine for SD content. The Ps3 setup manual specifies 480p with stereo sound so it's definitely not 720p.

Weird. Wonder why the quality would differ between Bravia TV and PS3. I would expect them to be the same.

Wish I could say the same but still no work on either PS3 or Bravia
Just a thought when I signed up there was no mention for which plan I was subscribing to. How does one choose a plan. Or does that come later

There's a thing in the help section on the PS3 that says on PC and PS3 its SD and on Sony Bravia TV's its SD and HD.

That explains it. It seems the PS3 app is crap. Because even just looking at the quality of the icons they in very low resolution. This is not the case on the Bravia.

only 480p thats pretty crap. netflix is 720p/1080p for most content (only SD for some, when the source is only SD, eg old tv shows).

i could live with the small catalog and promise to expand but cannot live with SD only on computer/ps3.

Netflix has only just announced it will be getting 1080p content (at the same time as apple TV announced upgrade to 1080p).  It doesn't have any right now AFAIK

I'm more interested in the lack of playback devices rather than the small selections.

Xbox?, Wii?, ATV?, Roku, Boxee box? All of these have netflix, Quickflix should be trying to get themselves into these platforms as the AU/NZ streaming service.

There is only one plan as far as I'm aware. Initially $9.95 a month then $16.95...

some movies are PPV but most are covered by the sub price.

I imagine they are, but give them a chance - they have only launched for 1 day in NZ. Bravia and PS3 gives them a good starting point

its not the Bravia its the Sony website. I cannot activate the Bravia fro quickflix. I have a funny feeling that it has gotten confused with the Sony registration of the TV set. It will allow me to enable Music but not Quickflix.
As for the PS3 it will not accept my login details just keeps saying wrong name or password. Both are correct becasue I can log into web site from PC.
