I had a quick look on Cheap Charts this morning, and I was surprised to see that there were a few new $4.99 titles available.

Needless to say that I couldn't resist the temptation, so I added three more titles to my library... Fight Club (1999), Starship Troopers (1997) and War Horse (2011).

if u buy the HD version u should automatically get the 4k version when they upgrade it.

Thanks. Yeah it's just that they might never do it, and i already have the bluerays. Having said that, since they are some of my favorites movies i should get the uhd discs, now that i think of it.

For newbies to the Apple Store, a cheap and easy way to get your movie fix, is to make use of the 99 cent rentals section.

Recently released titles pop up regularly and presently you can rent movies such as... Karate Kid: Legends, Oppenheimer, Challengers, The Beekeeper, Civil War, Twisters, The Fall Guy, to mention just a few.

Once purchased, you have 30 days to watch the film, and once you start watching it, you have 48 hours to finish it, or have repeat viewings. This is ideal for people who don't see the merit in buying films.

If you would rather buy your films, the 99 cent rentals are usually discounted to $7.99 or $9.99

They also wanted a Soundbar and was looking at the JBL Bar 500(recommended by Noel Leeming)to go with the TV. Convinced them to spend a little more and get the Bar 1000 MK1 for just over $900 as it was replaced with a MK2 model. Look forward to helping them setup/tweak the settings of the Bar and TV.

Noel Leeming and JB Hi-Fi have a sale until January 20th on soundbars and I have been looking at the JBL MK2 soundbars. I like the option of detaching rear speakers from the soundbar and placing them behind me with no need to have any plugs or wires as the speakers have rechargeable batteries.

Can you give me a brief rundown of how your nephew's soundbar performs, is it a decent option, can you recommend one, does it work well with the TCL TV? Cheers

Quite an Impressive soundbar. I had the earlier JBL Bar 5.1 which came with the dockable rears thats now in use at the Mum in laws. That bar had a similar 10" woofer. Compared to that the 1000 MK1 is next level. Compared to my Samsung 990D...probably a bit more impactful...but maybe not as delicate/defined. Atmos and surround is probably just as good. It sounds maybe a bit "fuller" than the samsung probably due to the larger Subwoofer. Nephew is very happy. Im sure the mkii will step it up again somewhat but i think that was $11-1200ish on special. I would probably get 2x USB C chargers so the rears can be permanently mounted and charged at the rear. As good as these bars sound on Streaming...4K Discs with uncompressed audio takes them next level so may pay to keep the odd disc to remind yourself how good it really can be haha. Best of luck on finding a bar that suits.

I have read many reviews etc. on You Tube. A lot of them are just stores with a sales pitch. It was hard to find a decent review on the Bar 1000MK2's, but there were a lot of MK1 reviews. I believe that the MK2 is a slight improvement on the MK1 from what I could gather. Your thoughts have probably made up my mind for me.

I would have liked a demo at one of the appliance stores, but, unless they already have one set up, they won't do it these days.

I will get a Bar 1000MK2 in the near future (maybe the next sale) or when the new Apple TV 4K becomes available as I don't need to shift my Homepods 2 until I get that. Two Homepod 2's paired give a pretty decent front sound stage, with nice deep base, but I miss having the full surround experience which I will hopefully get with the JBL's. They are however, great for Apple Music's lossless and spatial audio.

I still have my 4K Blu-ray player and about 30 4K discs, so I may connect the player to one of the Bar 1000MK2's HDMI ports, just so I can experience a little nostalgia occasionally 😁
