Benoire: I signed in with my google account and the link doesn't work, no file found.

It is really disappointing that they sold out to Samsung.  I'd imagine that PLP have very little say over which tv years/models that the app will be allowed to be used on but it is really frustrating that they said it would be compatible with the older sets but have now appeared to have changed that stance.  The TV app was the only reason I would consider getting PLP as I can't stand watching tv on a small monitor when I have a 51" TV in my lounge.

Can you not hook a laptop up to that tv or is that a pain? I watched most of last season on my projector that was fed from my laptop. it only has a vga cable(XGA (1024 x 768)) whcih should give me HDTV according to that link, but I am just not that sure if i have it set up optimally.  was happy enough with the experience as I don't have a tv in the house.

Oh I know, sorry just a general rant at PLP.  I really do dislike them :-(

I really don't know why you can't get the 2014 version as they indicated that had been released.

I do not own a laptop, I have fixed pcs via virtualisation.

My issue though is I have a 'fantastic' TV with a remote control.  By limiting the implementation to web browsers and certain tv sets within certain years it has basically annoyed me.  What happened to being able to use a remote to control the programme you where watching?  They've developed a cheap and basic way to watch football which I do not agree with.  It also appears that they still haven't fixed the inability to start a game at the beginning of the stream when joining live... That is probably the dumbest thing I've seen in a while, even Sky with all their issues have allowed that with Mysky for years now.

Its just simple schoolboy errors of presentation that have let the service down in my eyes and without access for my 2012 TV I'm now bound to watching it via a webrowser.

Wanted to say that 1024*768 is not considered HD, that classification starts at 720p upwards, infact at 1024*768 you'll find either the aspect ratio is all wrong distorting the image or the screen will have a letterbox affair.

With the increase in price to $199 and the fact that NFL matchpass isn't free anymore just think what the cost would be if you had to buy other sports indivdually also. For a really serious sports fan who likes 5-6 sports and you had to buy individually as some advocate I dont think you would get much change out of $1000 a year

Sorry meant to say Samsung 2013 version. I did download the app from Samsung apps as I was amused that the release date was post all the premiership games!

Well, if you win the curved TV and assuming it's a 2014 model, it would appear the PLP app will not be compatible

So I can't find my PS51E550D plasma tv on that list despite it being a dual core smart tv like the others, it is not listed.  I have to say Samsung is pretty shocking generally at the support of their products for updates.  My Galaxy S3 mini is compatible with Kitkat yet they're not releasing the update for that phone despite it being about a year and a bit old.

mmm, thanks for that - my model H6400 is not listed at all - list apps by product, and according to this, my TV does not exist.

Edit: but the H6300 is (which I think is the same model, minus the 3D), as per 2013 F6300 and F6400 are both listed

Hah same as me.  Samsung NZ don't seem to say all the models they sell are in NZ, mine doesn't appear on their support lists... I always have to chose a close neighbour and then add my model number to the list.

All this App imcompatibility talk just reinforces why "Smart" tv are a dubious feature and we should get small htpc connected to a dumb tv.

Yes I know it costs more but there's a cost in the frustration and disappointment in discovering the new toy you bought with much excitement doesnt do what you want.

I'm sticking with by bravia4600z from 2009 and a NUC.

A.

PLP support now say "Looking at your TV model I see no reason why the app would not run on your TV. Please note though that the app for 2014 model TVs has not actually been released yet and is currently going through Samsung QA."

So maybe my model will get it "sometime" - has anyone got a 2014 Samsung, who can confirm that the app is not yet released?
