So looks like NZ won't be getting anything.

I don't know how this affects things like open connect partners, or whether this means content will be pulled down from Sydney for Nz ISPs (therefore being fast, but having some international bandwidth costs), but thought I would post it here out of interest

We fill local caches by saturating our pipes overnight from Sydney.

You pull from the caches during local peak hours.

That's how the OpenConnect program works.

It is saying "Not available in this part of the world yet" for me. Are you using some third party DNS or Global Mode by chance?

Mine said not available using spark dns. Pretty sure it will arrive when they say it does :)

Showed up on mine in last couple of days too.

Comes up with coming soon, and has a section where I can put email address in if I want futher details, don't need them as I know 24th is the start date.

Will see what the quality is like in NZ zone first, then if good picture and everything will then look at DNS options for getting stuff futher afield.

All depends on what Netflix charge, I'm hoping it'll be around $15 a month.

Interestingly, the Netflix app is now available (and working using the US region thanks to dns4me) on my Panasonic DMP-BDT360 blu ray player this morning. It's *not* yet available on my Panasonic ST60 plasma's marketplace.

Weird how it is available on Panny's blu ray player, but not the TV. All will be revealed in the next couple of days, I guess!

On the "Netflix works on all devices" front - it'll be interesting to see if/when Microsoft release the Netflix WMC icon out to users in this neck of the woods.

Unfortunately the WMC plugin no good if you want to search for content as the search has been broken for ages. You can however search for content on another device, add it to your list and then see it in WMC.

Well so far im loving my NetFlix. I enjoyed lightbox, but with some semi decent movies and most of the series and some BBC ones, Im much happier and its cheaper.

Will NetFlix update or shuffle around its catalogue or once you have watched everything you like, thats it, time to unsubscribe?

I swaped from watching Orphan Black on Lightbox to Netflix's one.

Better sound, dolby digital, and 1080p on Netflix, 720p on lightbox, both through ps3.

Haven't started watching Vikings yet, but it's on Netflix as well, just one season behind lightbox.

yeah i watched viking already i think lightbox is up to date.

surely they refresh netflix with movies etc? if they dont i can see the benefit of sky over internet tv
