surely they refresh netflix with movies etc? if they dont i can see the benefit of sky over internet tv

They do add and remove content regularly, Quickflix does the same. Which has its plusses and minuses - its good to have new stuff, but if the series you were just about to watch drops off, or you were planning a rewatch, or talking someone else into appreciating it, is a bit of a bummer.

Watched our first Netflix movie at the weekend and it was a great experience. Worked flawlessly. We are on Vodafone Cable Unlimited so data not a problem. Was in HD so quality was very good. Watched via the Apple TV app. Recommended.

If you go to lemontv and set it to netflix-nz you can see when stuff was added.

Some movies been added in last 3 days, Friday Night Lights added/updated 6 days ago.

Did the same on Spark ADSL2 . No problems at all except I couldn't find the movie I wanted on the NZ site so watched Marco polo instead.. Will look at a VPN trial later in the week..

We have had 3 & 4 streams running simultaneously for a good chunk of the weekend (2 iPads, Stream8 and android/chromecast into FHD TV) without issue, at one stage a 1080p movie playing on the TV went a bit low res for a few minutes as i was also downloading a chunk of music from Google Music as well as a number of windows updates on the PC, we are on Spark VDSL2 with a fairly steady 58/10 mbps connection

It's kind of weird seeing the toddlers fav's all playing in hi def, the kids animated movies look sharp not indifferent to what i would expect from Blu-ray

I have had a snoop around the Europe and US Netflix and realize the NZ offering is heavily crippled in comparison so Unotelly looks like a must do

I kind of feel let down by what is available here in NZ. I thought Netflix was going to add more bigger blockbusters + a lot more titles

One of my favourite childhood movies was/is "Toy Story". Netflix doesn't have it and have to $5 elsewhere.

That is just one example. Maybe I was just expecting too much however.

I know they cant have everything but...

We have signed up to the two stream hd service and wondered if you could are allowed to have two streams but with two different IP address?

ie wife is at home watching one stream, would I be able to watch the other stream on my lunch break at work?

Not available in NZ, but often elsewhere, eg Toy Story 1,2 & 3 available on Netflix in four countries through Unotelly or similar. DNS/VPN service really adds value to Netflix - less than $5 per month.

I see, thanks for that. Maybe it will get rotated in eventually but whatever its not a massive deal. Same goes for all the Marvel movies though, Iron Man, Thor etc, none are on Netflix and I would of thought they would be some of the most commonly searched movies, especially with Age Of Ultron a few weeks away. Again nothing major and its only my personal preference in movies, but...

Well, those movies are available in some regionso. Search on lemontv.co.nz making sure you select all Netflix regions, and you'll see where they are available. UnoTelly et al really expand your options with Netflix :-)

Well as the noob OP of this forum, Im shocked at how brilliant netflix is. Not going back to lightbox and sky is cancelled, a few days into NetFlix.

Watching of all things LOTR, UltraHighDef, OMG, how sharp and no lag. How far the internet has come since I started helping with adsl some 18 years ago. Im only on VDSL now.

LOVE IT !

almost cried about the black caps though as immensely proud i still am of their summer. had to throw that in there.

I didnt realise you could get ultra HD on the free trial.

We cant get UFB.

What would be the minimum download speed for just normal HD? For 20Mbps cover it?

We usually sit around 8-10Mbps on our ADSL2 connection, and usually get HD. Even when it dropped down to 5Mbps last night, we were getting a pretty good picture. Not sure if it was full 1080P, but would've been at least 720P.

Oh sweet, we can drop our plan and that pays for netflix.

I know you can get VPN, but thats $5 then another $10 at least. So thats $15. Quite happy with the NZ selection for $10 per month. Especially now I can drop my service by $10 per month.
