Looking at mine (no email yet) the other 2 plans have gone up to include GST but my standard is still 12.99
It's pretty cheeky to announce a price rise one day after saying it's not going up any time soon!
Yep just got my email today. $15 for standard now.
Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation
So basically, your price won't go up until after October
Cmon guys, its GST, no real biggie?
I just got the email, 30 Oct. Ill check my portfolio, see if I can afford it. I seem to afford GST, so thats fine
Interestingly, I got an email from Google today about my Google Apps (Or is that G suite), saying:
Google for Work will not be assessing Goods and Services Tax on your account beginning October 1. Since the announcement of the new GST rules on remote services which comes into effect October 1, Google has been working closely with the local tax authorities to ensure it complies with the requirements of the GST law and charges GST on Google products required to be charged under the law. After receiving confirmation from the local tax authorities, Google is not required to charge New Zealand GST on Google for Work products.
Please disregard any previous email you may have received informing you of the application of the Goods and Services Tax on Google for Work products.

AWS are doing the same if you enter in a GST number?

This is incorrect. As outlined in the July 2016 Tax Information Bulletin published by IR (emphasis added):
The Commissioner of Inland Revenue is also able to prescribe or agree to an alternative method of determining whether the supply is made to a GST-registered person. The Commissioner will take into account the following matters as an indication that the services are generally only supplied to registered businesses:
- the nature of the supply (for example, advertising services);
- the value of the supply (for example, the provision of a high-value software package that would only be associated with business use);
- the terms and conditions of the provision of services (for example, software that is licensed for enterprise use across a large number of networked computers).
It would seem IR has concluded that the 'Google for Work' service is provided exclusively to GST-registered businesses, and that Google does not need to charge GST on this supply.

So AWS should be the same then. I did think their solution of 'enter your GST number and we wont charge you GST' was interesting in case - that's not generally how it works.
