Well, yes that too.

In a leaf of the DC/Marvel book. Apparently we need to watch the 'Short Trek' episode 'Runaway' to keep up with these branched timelines

The Short Trek episodes are all worth checking out, and short enough to not require much of an investment in time. I'm not sure how they're going to tie in with the larger narrative though, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Didn't saw that red angel coming...totally had a different idea about the red angel

I had suspected the Red Angel has something to do with Michael.

She's say "Mom", which makes sense because if she dies, she can't come from the future to rescue herself.

Michael Burnham is being badly written.

Big fight scene near the end of the latest episode (S2E11) and Burnham is agonising over her Mum while Georgio is being trashed by Control right behind her.........who WILL destroy all sentient life in the Galaxy if it succeeds.

Top notch Starfleet officer Burnham is crybabying as the Universe is about to be destroyed.

Seriously?

No.

Most star Trek characters have a mental break a some time during thier series, if you think of all the crap that has happened to her recently and being brought up on Vulcan being taught to suppress her emotions, it was only a matter of a time before they flooded to the surface and she cracked.

Agree! she came across as quite the wimp there. They just needed to beam her out but they let the scene become all marshmellowly - yuk. I mean she is in the military, FFS, obey orders!! They also had plenty of time to destroy the Section 32 ship when they discovered that's where the data was being copied to.

The thing about that scene - even my wife who is not a ST fan in general agreed - the universe is about to be destroyed, the mother says she will be around because that's how she rocks, and Georgiou is being kicked to hell and back by Control. The scene is such that it seriously look like the End of History is right about to happen. And Michael is not doing anything.

Well, maybe and if it does it wont be for a while ..... from ST:VOY and ST: ENT we know that timelines are fine until at least the 29th and 31st centuries,  :)

Generally, I'll agree with you. But I still feel Burnham seems to have a lot of what look like self-indulgent "mental breaks". It's all about MEEEE.

True....though it wouldn't be the first time Star Trek destroyed entire futures.... :-)

Yeah, Although I was pretty disappointed with last week's show,

We had gob loads of exposition, posturing and scene setting  , for a single final episode.... how they intend to tie off so many things in 45 minutes seems a real stretch ,

I really want a resolution to the storyline, they better not end on a cliff-hanger.

The series seems to be setting up the following

1) Discovery going into the future with next seasons cast

2) Pike getting crippled

I expect next season to be all about getting home and thus setting off the red signs.
