I wonder why The Little Mermaid is missing from the NZ catalogue, when the sequels and TV series is on there. I can't think of anywhere else it would be licensed to here.
rhen68:
Downloaded apps to Roku 3, Roku 4 and PS4 this morning before work. They all appear to be good to go (didn't stream any content).
Asked DishTV, through their website 'Contact Us', whether SmartVU X and Superbox will get app, waiting out their reply.
DishTV SmartVU X dongle loaded Disney+ through Google Play Store this afternoon. No luck yet on SuperBox Freeview recorder (also received confirmation of same from Dish TV tech support desk).
gehenna: I'm surprised there wasn't an email verification as part of sign up
I got verifcation email thank you for creating disney account. Also did set up from mobile phone so i could use google play rewards as payment wish this had been earlier as just had $30 rewards disappear through expire over 1 year.
richms:
Have they fixed the simpsons yet?
https://www.techradar.com/news/disney-plus-will-fix-the-aspect-ratio-on-the-simpsons-in-2020
There would seem to be an issue with their server load, I am getting error 76 when trying to update my profile
rugrat:
They also have agents of shield, but on Netherlands service they cut some episodes because of inappropriate content so not going to work to good for that series.
Can only see season 1 nz agents.
Hopefully the remaining seasons get added. No-one in NZ had rights for S06
Disney+ app showing on my LG TV now. Though I'm using Apple TV primarily, handy to have the native option.
EDIT: Though I just noticed when I logged into the native app that the show thumbnails on the main landing page are quite blurry, almost like the app is lower resolution than my display and scaled up to fit. No such issue on the Apple TV version on the same telly. Strange.

That is how everything is on my LG, its 4k but the UI looks trash. Youtube on it has blurry AF thumbnails and text with fuzzy halos. youtube app at 4k on the xbox or playstation looks supurb compared to the inbuilt.
Interesting if it can play 4k video. Youtube on my old LG maxes out at 1080.
How is this being run so it doesn't swamp every ISP's backhaul? e.g I understand ISPs have a Netflix cache server of sorts, does Disney+ have one also?
Got it running on a Mi Box via GetFlix dns. Had some issues signing up, no matter what settings I select on GetFlix it tries to give me the US site which I don't want yet the Mi Box offered an NZ account. Took 2 minutes to install and signup and has been walking flawlessly since. Wife and I already have half a dozen classic cartoons from our youth to binge on and ofcourse the first dozen seasons of the Simpsons (although might wait until they rework the aspect ratio's in the new year).
All in all pretty impressed, App is already better than Prime Video.
clinty: Have installed the app on my Sony Android TV via the Play store and currently watching Avengers :)Is HDR available? or maybe not on the trial version .
It's not really an afternoon off if I'm upgrading my work laptop - is it? ;)
