Well that answers my distribution to tall the screens question a few pages ago.

But it says Spark Sport pop-up channel (i.e. singular) will there not be points where there are two games on at the same time?

No, pretty sure there aren't two games on at once at any point.

That looks about right: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/rugby-world-cup-2019-schedule/

Add 3 hours to those times for local NZ time.

Our DST starts on 29 September - so add 3 hours for the first game and 4 hours for the remaining games I think?

Good catch. That won't make my 10 year old Son happy, as he won't be watching those games live with me :(

There's a really handy calendar you can subscribe to on the official RWC website, I just set mine up for the Calendar app (Mac/iOS) and it's added all the NZ games (including the Semis/Quarters etc. which are obviously "TBD" in terms of teams) in our local NZ dates/times.

Interesting that all games will be broadcast over satellite in NZ after all. Hopefully there is a work around.

You can see all the kick off times here for nz times or a just to any time zone.

Ouch - SKY want $999 excl GST if you are a bar and $299 excl GST for accommodation ( up to 60 rooms) and from the original media release Spark is footing the bill of the setup at Sky

Sorry no online link yet as it is from a Hospo NZ e-mail blast

So that's IF you already have a Sky setup and want this one popup channel? I am in the wrong line of business :)

"Under the terms of the partnership, Spark will cover the costs of SKY establishing the pop-up
channel and will receive all related revenue from SKY commercial customers."

So Spark wants $999 from the bars/clubs and $299 from the accomodation providers.  Spark foots the bill and Spark gets the revenue.

Just helped setup someone on Spark Sport with a Chromecast & tablet - they had a Vodafone TV (first time I've seen one) and they could cast to that, but only using YouTube etc, not from Spark Sport.

I've not really dealt with 'casting' much before - would it be expected that a Chromecast would work with Spark Sport, but another device (in this case a Vodafone TV) wouldn't, even though it can cast from other apps?

I also felt like the frame rate wasn't quite as good from the Chromecast as it is with laptop-TV over HDMI cable, but it could have been this particular TV, it was a bit older. Anyone able to comment on the quality with the Chromecast? Should it be as good as connecting up a laptop with an HDMI cable?

I hate casting. I only use it when there is literally no other option. Sometimes it works well, but it seems random as to when it works or not. It's very difficult to troubleshoot as there are no logs or meaningful errors.

I wouldn't be depending on it if I were you.

Fair points and I do tend to agree - I certainly wouldn't cast myself but it is something that a lot of people will be doing. I would like to have two identical TVs setup side by side and test with a laptop/HDMI and chromecast but that's easier said than done.

999$ does not seem to bad. I know in Ireland sky sports is about 30000nz dollers a year equivalent. I know that's for all sport channals not just rugby. But given its not exclusively live on spark might be a bit steep

I wonder would they consider making the channal available on home sky but at a more expensive price than the Internet app.

How much is sky nz a mounth for pubs? Anyone know

I have found setting the Chromecast to 50hz mode helps smooth out the frame rate for both SS and fanpass
