Apple TV: tvOS 14.5 to support both 24.000fps and 23.976fps.

3 years after Apple TV gained support for 'match content', tvOS 14.5 will implement the holy grail of frame rate matching; support for fractional AND integer frame rates, i.e. both 24.000fps and 23.976fps, for improved video playback without dropped frames.

I looked at my wish list yesterday, and found that Star Trek Beyond (2016) (DV/DA) and Dunkirk (2017) (DV) have been reduced to $7.99 for a limited time. Bought them both, taking my total iTunes Movie Collection to 254 😎

EDIT: Just looked again today, and I scored Black Hawk Down (2001) (DV/DA) for $7.99 as well

I have all of the Pixar movies (except Onward) on Blu-ray disc, and all in SteelBook collectable cases. The only one that is 4K HDR is Incredibles 2.

Its very tempting to upgrade some of my favourites (Nemo, Brave, Moana etc), but animated films look very good on my TV, having been upscaled, and I don't think that it would be worth doubling up on these titles. If you don't already have them on Blu-ray, then, the price is right to start your collection now.

Definitely not worth buying on iTunes if you have Disney+. I have Netflix, But I only watch Netflix Original series and movies.

Though my iTunes library has grown significantly over the last few months, and a lot of my purchases were $4.99 or $7.99, I'm still racking up the dollars on my credit card πŸ€‘

Its just that the prices are so good, that I can't resist. I still have a lot of titles on my Wish List, so I'm not expecting a lull any time soon.

The fact that I can get up to eight titles many in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, for the price of a new release 4K HDR Disc, has me not too worried about the cost of my movie addiction. Bring it on Apple! πŸ˜‚
