Benoire: It's disappointing that you have to do this in the first place, it should really be location-centric rather than having to alter the webpage through 3rd party code.

Agreed. Another option available is to use Google Calendar. You can add any EPL club's games to your calendar: Settings/Calendars/Browse Interesting Calendars [on right hand side of the screen]/Sports/Soccer/EPL/Club. Lots of other "interesting calendars" too.

djrm: Terrible, terrible quality. Very very stuttery. Making MUFC look even worse!

I think everything looks great :)

Actually, the picture quality in the game I watched yesterday morning, was good.

Ive only watched the games delayed and not live, but seem good.

I did connect it to my 50" plasma but it looked pretty horrible. Anyone know why? I though being HD quality would be ok on big screen.

Has it got anything to do with the company they are using mostly designs for use on connected smaller devices not big TVs?

Firstly, the feed is not HD quality, it sits somewhere between SD & HD.

Secondly using an iPad via AppleTV, it is an acceptable viewing experience on my 55" Samsung LED TV. I have previously hooked up my laptop to the Samsung via HDMI, and it was about the same as though the iPad/AppleTV set up.

Not sure if that helps, but it is possible to get it working reasonably well on a large screen LED TV, I think it depends on the signal source....

Thanks for that. I dont have any of that. Only laptop to tv via HDMI. I'll try again over the weekend. I dont want to host a football gathering and the picture to be like minecraft.

So I 'won', and they agreed to refund me once they got the court papers. Although they didn't think they did anything wrong. I think what it actually came down to was 'James', the manager, taking a position and then once management got the papers, they told him to just refund me.

And they lost a customer for, well, as long as they hold the rights.

Next year though, watch out for the same terms and conditions, because a lawyer friend of mine looked at the terms and conditions and thought some of the terms were frankly crazy - including cancelling and refunding monthly customers but not yearly customers, reserving their right to cancellation but not allowing you to cancel, and hiding the "as-is" clause way down in s16 of the T&C. So it's likely that if they keep the same T&C next year, they're going to fall foul of the Fair Trading Amendment Act under unfair contracts.

Well done for getting a refund.

They have lost a customer? - you wanted to quit anyway, which if I recall, was because there was not an app for your make of TV.

Each to their own, I guess. I'm pretty happy, although am unable to use the Samsung TV app for watching a delayed game.

Having used PLP last year I thought the pq was acceptable on my 65" plasma. This year seems to be another story, I get judder and pq problems when watching live or a catch up match.

My source is via vdsl cabled to my htpc or via wifi to a laptop and hdmi out to the av amp. Same kit as last year.

Watching on an ipad and a windows tablet, I can still see focus and judder problems.

Anyone else have a similar issue and managed to find out the cause?

Yes, i have judder issue when airplaying from ipad, seems to be mainly when camera panning, ironically the highlights and preview shows are fine. All i got from PLP was its probably a fault my end , far from satisfactory considering i stream lightbox/netflix with no issues and am on reliable 30/7 vdsl connection.

Yes, camera panning is when it's most noticeable, even the wife commented on it.

I spent hours tweaking the htpc, then the av amp and finally the plasma, all made  no difference.

I've read a couple of football forums back in the UK and they also mention similar issues, only they can't raise it with PLP for obvious reasons!

Wouldn't be ironic if the next time the rights come up that a Non Internet provider gets the NZ rights because too many people are accessing PLP from outside of NZ potentially losing money for other rights holders.

As an aside do people think eventually there will a worldwide price not a country by country price for the online rights?

I have tried a few more times from laptop to tv or onkyo via hdmi, but am still getting a poor picture.

It's choppy like finely chopped chop sticks, stuck in choppy water.

I was thinking it was my laptop (Toshiba Sat Pro L650), but after reading other comments that might not be the case.

How long do these jokers have the rights for? I think I would pay more to watch it on Sky.

I'm getting plenty of stutter when airplaying.
Not as much watching on my iMac but still not smooth.
