just posting in case it's useful to anyone but since the big TVNZ app upgrade i was having a myriad of issues with random loading circles etc mid stream across multiple devices/platforms.  Turned out it was the ad blocking option I had enabled on my Unifi Express.  Kinda sucks as apart from that its a useful feature

Just watched E1 of Under Salt Marsh - a premium UK series with a great cast. Resolution and audio were total crap. It deserves better. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Are you using AppleTV or another platform as I've just tested in a browser and the quality is reasonably good - looking at ffprobe

  Stream #0:5: Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p(tv, unknown/unknown/bt470m), 1920x1080 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 2365 kb/s, 600 fps, 25 tbr, 600 tbn (default)

I've given up on the TVNZ app for now. Which is annoying because they really do have some good content and for FTA the ratio of adds to show really isn't that bad. I'll be watching the Football World cup elsewhere as they won't be getting $44.95 out of me for a service I can't trust.

Let us know how you go,

Its usable on our C1, but its laggy and scrubbing is really rather painful ....

The LG app store hasn't updated, so unsure if there is anything to be gained from an uninstall /reinstall ...

Senecio:[snip]

Yup me too. Perhaps stupidly, I keep checking back to see if they've fixed it and am disappointed every time. There's plenty of history of IT related problems with new platforms, can't recall the last where there was such poor communication (i.e. barely any whatsoever) from the provider, nor what seems like such little urgency to address fundamental issues with the service that leave it far worse to use than the service it replaced.

Hhmmmm, Sonos comes to mind.

It's relegated to a 432p blurry mess that crashes when you play it and doesn't remember where you got up to 🤣

Tried it and I think it looked better than on Apple TV - but still not great and not anywhere like any flavour of 1080.

This is all very subjective on my part and I’m not an expert - but I know a decent resolution when I see it and this ain’t it.

I watched the replay of the America's Cup regatta on TVNZ+ this morning via Apple TV. All worked ok, although it didn't save my viewing position when I exited and came back later.

Don't understand how TVNZ can compete when the same stream is on the AC official YouTube channel at 1080p 60fps HDR.

Sent my own feedback concerning.

Unable to rotate from portrait to landscape

Kia ora,

We acknowledge that viewers are presently unable to preview landscape mode on the iPad when utilising the home screen.

This occurs because the new platform does not currently support landscape orientation; however, it will be addressed in an update in the future.

In the interim, we sincerely acknowledge the frustration experienced by our viewers concerning this matter, and we extend our apologies.

Kind regards,
TVNZ+ Support

@FineWine they have been trotting out that excuse for a month - see here.

How they could possibly think signing off on a platform that doesn't support landscape when all their content is landscape is beyond me. The whole thing is so far from being fit for public release.

Thank you I have not been reading all 18 odd pages of this topic so missed that one.

I must add that my brothers two Samsung TVs are suffering so many TVNZ clichés that they watch their favourite TVNZ on their computer. Just got off from a WhatsApp chat with him and have virtually persuaded him to pop into Noel Lemming and get a Google Streaming TV dongle.
