Is VFTV the same as getting Sky via VF cable ?

i.e. does this mean no EPL for VF-Cable Sky subscribers.

If so, this is turning into a shambles.

Yes VFTV is Vodafone's own product offered over Cable and Fibre

Pretty gutted the streaming option isn’t available week 1. In fact it’s a fu&&ing kick in the guts. If you are going to take the rights from a broadcaster that was delivering a pretty good product the least you can do have the service available on day 1.

I’m ready and willing to sign up for the streaming package now but I will have to resort to illegal methods now :(

I agree. I was very happy with the PLP service: the price was good and I liked being able to watch games when I wanted. Bein Connect price is good, but it is not worth it if I can only watch live streamed - I know that there are some games that will be delayed, but I don't have the same amount of freedom as before.

I got rid of Sky last year and I don't want to go back - I will have to explore other options

For those that have signed up to watch on Sky, what content is currently on there?

Yes you can via the BEIN connect (streaming) service. I got confirmation from BEIN via Facebook messenger that it won't be ready for the first weekend, which is B.S.

Just coverage of all the major trophies Spurs have won in the last quarter century!

They're not up until the 9th.

Anyone else think that Bein are being purposely very vague about the online service because it is going to be superior than the channels on Sky? Particularly for those who do not currently have Sky at home.

When I first heard that Bein connect would be a way to watch the games, I checked out the Aussie version, and it looked very similar to PLP, other than in the FAQ on demand games took 3-4 hours to appear, although it seemed all games were on demand.

Just speculation on my part, that an agreement with Sky is that Bein connect would not be 'ready' to try and get Sky some extra subscribers.

Looks like i'll have to find an illegal way to, hopefully, watch United struggle at the mighty Dean Court again!

Sky aren't getting any cut out of this at all (that's right, zip, zero, nothing), so I doubt that's the case. An article on NBR yesterday suggested the delay was down to technical issues.

It's true that Sky are getting no revenue from the BeIn package but what they are getting is the ability to offer added value to make having sky at all look more attractive. It's a good arrangement as BeIn win as online only services rule out a lot of people and Sky can keep a larger number of football fans as subscribers. So that being the case, the above conspiracy theory (no offence) is still consistent with Sky's desires. However, if this was intentional, I think it's more likely BeIn would state when it will be ready. Sounds more like they just haven't got their technical side together and that's not surprising as NZ won't be a priority for them.

The BeIN channels haven't appeared on the Sky planner yet. I thought they could be there in advance of the launch date on the 9th. Interesting to see that Sky had Championship football on today (Fulham v Newcastle) in advance of this being available on  BeIN from next week.

BeIN look set to be a major player in sports broadcasting from here on in. Next time the contract is up for renewal in 3 years, I expected them to 'go solo' and not need any assistance from Sky.

Yes, this was my point. Although all money from Bein channel goes to Bein, the only real reason Sky want the channel is to get people to sign up to Sky, HD channels, MYSky subcriptions etc.

It could be that technically they aren't ready, although I find this strange as I would have thought they would leverage the current platforms they have in different areas of the world - PLP was, after all, out of the US I believe.

The reason, if my conspiracy theory (never thought of it that way, very Mulder like (-: ) is true, is that they can't say before the first round when it will be available as if people who are on the fence knew for sure it would be ready for round 2, then they may well wait. However the impatience of the need for sports fans to watch every round\game their team plays could play into Sky's hands.

I have signed up to the SKY Broadcasted channels, but if the online offering is better, I will no hesitate to switch, as I have only a one month obligation. I get your theory, I just think, that you are over thinking it ;-p.

I aim to misbehave.

Does anyone here know if BeIn connect supports AirPlay?
