With PLP at least we all had the chance to watch our team live or at a time that suited us. As in the past, Sky (now with Bein) have reverted to pushing the smaller clubs out. The first 2 (at least) Swansea games have both been delayed until 5pm, when they have a channel showing highlight shows, and repeats of other games during the morning/day – if not show it live, then show it ASAP!  I hope this changes when Bein Connect comes online and after the Olympics, when Sky have said they’d have up to 3 pop up channels.

Then at 5pm, the show started, showing the teams coming out, and showing their line-ups, then it cut away for 10 minutes showing cr@p from past years, with nothing to do with either team, and advertising future live games on Bein.

Still no word on the online offering; not liking what I've heard about some games being delayed broadcast till 5pm. That makes it basically useless.

PLP had the simplicity of 1 price for a product. Watch what you want, when you want.

If the online one has the same flaws, it'll be hard to justify, when the games are all on USENET almost instantly.

My Dad (Spurs fan) had brain surgery last Wednesday and was looking forward to getting home in time to see their game yesterday. Got discharged on Saturday, set the game to record then yesterday morning found the recording had failed with error code "HW5" and there's no replay until this afternoon. It did not clash with other things recording at the same time. Called Sky and they didn't know what that error meant and the person on the phone didn't seem to know what Bein Sports was either. Asked on the Bein Sports facebook page if anything had gone wrong with that particular game and no answer.

Guess it was never going to go smoothly the first week given the whole performance to get it. Hopefully it works next weekend. Anyone manage to successfully record that game?

I too recorded the Everton v Spurs game (from 2:00am on Sunday), with no issues at all, (well except for the lacklustre 1st half, and the result...!)

Hmmmm, HW sounds like it might mean hardware issue, but it's worrying that Sky had no clue and didn't offer a solution.

How does USENET work? Is it easy enough to find the games you want without finding out the scores and have the smaller teams on it?

I hope Bein works pretty similar to PLP, really struggled to stay awake this morning without the on demand I'm used to having after the week I've had!

This is why I think they are just taking premier league productions "premier league tv" channel and hence have no programming control over it. If you look at the content on bein 1 it is all premier league produced stuff, none from bein.

I looked on the sky app on Sunday and it listed FOUR bein pop-ups, apparently pop up 3 & 4 were streaming on sky go. Apparently the swans game was on there live

I thought Sky Go was not streaming any of these channels?

That was my understanding too, the 3rd and 4th pop ups have disappeared from the sky guide app but there are two pop-ups on the sky go app

Would really like to know what the delay is with the Bein sports Connect. Have a feeling its ready but are just delaying it until more people sign up with Sky. Don't believe for one second that they still haven't sorted out setting it up. Think it sucks that us non sky subscribers are missing out at the moment.

I don't get the delay either surely there is more money and control in offering their own stand alone service.

Bein have said on Twitter that no on-demand services are planned.

Is that for SKY or BeIN connect? It kinda feels like on the twitter page any questions which are asked about Connect have responses about the SKY service. Would be such a disappointment if the online service doesn't have any sort of catch up.

They tweeted me back saying sky go only channels will be made available from time to time to show simultaneous games live

Don't they realise that most of the games are in the middle of the night. If I wanted to get up at 2-4am every week, I wouldn't need to pay them anything, I'd get games streamed for free.

I did think that BEin wasn't coming to New Zealand as people thought, they bought the rights in an attempt to create a global asia-pacific platform... Not getting some key markets put a dent in their finances and I don't think the $10m they paid justify a dedicated platform for NZ; hence the partnership with Sky.  I'd love to be proven wrong and for Sky to take up that $20 football only mantle by 'reselling' the full BEin package for online... I will say that I feel this will get worse and NZ, being a small country, will get shafted more by these global companies as they compete for rights.
