I would love to find a way of getting around this geoblock for tomorrows racing. The difference in quality between the Youtube and TVNZ feed is substantial, our 50mbit connection couldn't keep up with the low quality tvnz feed and i was getting more buffering than actual video. Where as i was in glorious 720p on youtube for race 1-4 without a single hiccup. Not only that but i found the NZ commentators appalling.
Now to spend the day figuring out how to get around the block, a month's subscription to a vpn might be the only option.

Can you set a region in youtube with something like unblock us?  Or get access to an australian VPN?  Youtube via australia works well for live.

You can set a region using Hola but the video just hangs with the spinning wheel and then shows races 3&4. This is with the region set to Australia

Yus i got youtube working and at 720p to boot, no buffering, glorious! What ive done was install an addon for firefox called stealthy which easily connects you to proxys. I then fired up the live feed, had to change proxys a couple of times before it started playing, it was stuttering and wasnt working well so i turned stealthy off and boom, the stream continued and is playing beautifully now.

I took my Android tablet to work(along with several others) and watched it on the Americas Cup app. Was a good feed.

Again inconsistency with today's race blocked but the past two days are available.

Maybe it's a timing thing?

I guess it's too much for tvnz to fix this streaming issue - 100mbps fibre at work and we get constant buffering.

I didn't want people to stream at work even with two 100Mbs connections with two different ISP's so installed 52" edge lit LED TV in the staff room so people could watch it properly.

Back to the topic I found I could watch the highlights on the Android app which was basically the whole race. Very interesting to hear the differences in commentaries. The Yanks thought we made a mistake on the fourth leg by not covering Oracle and letting them speed up while Lester said nothing about that strategy.

Anyone else really over the rampant geoblocking thats become the latest craze??

Let the rabbits wear glasses!! Let the informations be free(s)!!

.......the internet wasn't like this 10 years ago. Back when the americans forgot there are other nations that don't live in mud huts. Then some nutters started crashing planes...
