everything is free on the internet, people pay for convenience and quality.  i could just download movies illegally, or i could quickly just pay ~$5-7 for a 5.1 1080p movie rental/purchase and start playing in seconds.

I guess thats the market theyre going for, and for $8 a month meh, who really cares.

theres been months where i never used netflix ( a while ago) but didnt cancel because it was so little i didnt bother.

lol,

yes it is off topic, but I wonder if amazon will allow "Fyre TV" on "Fire TV".  wonder how locked down they will be.

I suppose its android so you can just side load it presumably.

I am assuming a switchable power supply?

Anyone have any source to confirm that - would hate a useless 110v doorstop.

Power: 5.5mm 6.25V 2.5A power adapter

So even if its only 110v,  you should be able to buy a replacement DC adapter.

Wont know that until tomorrow when the first orders arrive on American doorsteps.. Here's hoping, otherwise that was a foolish early purchase!

They're a Seattle-based company, so they could be smoking weed for all we know.

Quite a few xbmc members have pulled the trigger on the fire's. Will know tomorrow how "open" the device is to such things, heres hoping sideloading is the same as the HDX tablets. Nothing of note on XDA yet.
