If the price increase means I get to see more of their excellent work like House of Cards, then all I've got to say to them is GO HARD.

freitasm: It seems Netflix has plans to increase subscription prices for new subscribers:

Netflix is about to get more expensive, but only by a dollar or two. In his company's Q1 letter to shareholders, CEO Reed Hastings said, "Our current view is to do a one or two dollar increase, depending on the country, later this quarter for new members only." Hastings then noted that existing customers will be able to stay at current monthly rates (e.g. $7.99 in the US) "for a generous time period."

Actually, I'm most interested in the "depending on the country" maybe they WILL come clean on ego locking us and we actually get to save on VPN costs?

Makes sense if they see many clients C/cards are from outside the states and thus realise that are making money they could make directly?

"knowingly" supplying their content outside their region would breach their contracts with the rights holders. Right now, they can say they employ "industry standard" geo blocking software and "as far as they know" all content is legitimate US only residents.

Ofcourse, the reality is they would have a fairly good idea what traffic is getting routed via DNS services / VPNs and also what accounts credit card information is from non US banks, but having "plausible deniability" is good for their business....

It was in the ODT today also.

Even if it was twice the price it would be good value IMO.
