Beaker: Ive tried all the steps above with no luck, when I change toi the UK region I simply cannot find Netflix to install. anyone had any recent luck with this?

Maybe set the region back to NZ - that will remove netflix.
Then set it to UK - that should install netflix (the UK one that seems to work).
I left the TV on UK and installed the bbc iplayer and ITV player and have been having a good play with them.
EDIT: I now see you said this didnt work. Maybe worth setting to NZ and leaving for 30m or so then restart the TV before switching to UK - does it not install Netflix automatically?

I gather that if you are using unotelly you can just log into the settings there and change the netflix region to whatever country you want - so even with the TV set to the UK you can set the geo-unblocker to point to netflix USA (or canada...whetever).

I gather though, if you have installed Netflix while set to the UK on the TV and then you switch regions on the TV back to the USA then it should just keep the version of Netflix that works.

I cant for the life of me work out what Samsung has done to the USA netflix app or why it isnt fixed by now - I saw some people on a US forum complaining - so I dont think its something in this part of the world that breaks it...

Which model are you using? If it is an older model, in my experience, I could download BBC iplayer fine, but like you the Netflix was unavailable. I have just upgraded 2 Sammies to newer models and it works perfectly for all UK apps including Netflix.

It's a 2011 model TV I think, Series 9? but yeah its the model that TV3 On Demand doesn't exist for, guess they have abandoned it once more.. I don't see the value in replacing my 3 year old TV.. maybe its using the PS3 and create a US Based PSN account option or abandon Netflix

I think thats the whole problem with 'smart' tvs. A tv should last 5-10 years?
How long does the 'smart' software get maintained? While its nice to have those goodies included in the tv its almost better if the 'smarts' are in an external device that can be replaced IMHO.

FYI No, Netflix is not in the list of Apps it installed

I've had the same problem with my F series Samsung Smart TV. I had my smart hub set to UK but thought I'd try setting it to USA. The Netflix app updated itself from version 3.229 (which is what installed when set to UK) to version 4.00511. This latter version fails to load.

I deleted the Netflix app by setting the smart hub to Australia (was interested to see what apps they have in Oz, which is quite a lot compared to NZ. Most of the major Australian TV networks ).

Then set the smart hub to UK, which deleted the Oz apps and installed version 3.229 Netflix app

Then turned off auto updates for apps using this guide

Then reset smart hub to USA. The UK version of Netflix is preserved.

What I now notice is that Version 3.229 of Netflix works, but the next day I am signed out and have to sign back in again. This happens every day.

Anybody having this problem?

Incidentally, my Samsung blu-ray player, BD-H6500, has version 4.00911 Netflix app and that works perfectly. I was hoping to have Netflix UK on the blu-ray and Netflix US on the TV, without having to change the Netflix country settings in the Unotelly.
