Hopefully its just temporarily broken, but I can't get Netflix to load on my series 5 and 8 TV's, was all going great until the latest 1118 update. When I click on Netflix it doesn't load up and just reverts back to the TV picture on the HDMI1 input.
I'm using Unblockus DNS and I've tried resetting the smarthub with no luck. This was one of the reasons I bought the Samsung so it will be a disappointment to lose it.
No problems with Netfix on the laptop with same DNS. Seems to be Samsung related.
Are there any other Samsung/Netflix people out there with the same issue who might have found a fix?

Oddly I have been playing around with that today and wondered what was going on.
Same issue as you.
I have a trial of unotelly - not sure if my internet is quite working as it should be - some sites that are normally ok seem a bit sluggish.

Hmmm, not good, don't think its firmware related because the 8 series plasma is still on the previous version and is the same deal. I googled but didn't come up with much other than suggesting to reset the smarthub and reloading the apps. Didn't help though. I'm with World exchange.
I'll give it a few days and try again....

I had the same issue on my series 9, then my series 8 late last year with Firmware upgrades, I also have a series 5 and noticed the same issue on the latest recent update.

This took up literally a day off my life to resolve!, if yours is the same issue, you open Netflix and it immediatly crashes back to broadcast TV. Here is what I finally did to fix it.

There seems to be an issue with setting your country as NZ, but your Internet Area as the USA - what you need to do is delete the USA Netflix app and replace it with another country (I.E UK)

So, go through setup, select NZ as your Internet Country which will delete the Netflix App
Go through setup again and select UK as your country
Go through setup again and select USA as your country, this wont delete the Netflix App it will just change the country, so it should load.

Hopefully that works for you, I've confirmed it works on my 9,8, 6 and 5 series Samsung. You also need to lock the App's to stop it updating.

I did find it very strange that although I searched alot for this error no one else seemed to report it!

Cheers mate. I did try changing regions UK NZ etc, but not in exactly the order you have described. I'll give it a go and report back. Sounds promising!

ok got it working.

I had to

1. Reset to NZ.
1a. Menu -> System -> Setup
1b. Once on the Smart hub terms and condition. Change country to NZ.
http://support.unblock-us.com/customer/portal/articles/1138038-samsung-f-series-smart-tv-2013-app-store-change

Once in NZ, continue and let it download all the apps to smarthub.  LEAVE IT FOR A WHILE.  It needs to delete everything in the backgorund.  I left it for 30mins.

2. Rest to UK.
same as step 1.

UK netflix worked fine for me.  Havent switched back to US>  I only use netflix and plex.

Glad that worked, you could probably change the first step to Reseting your TV, basically you just need to find a way to delete the Netflix App

I'm wondering how many other people are going to come across this soon as more people update, the Sammy TV's with Netflix/HBO-Go/Hulu just rule, the Netflix 3D Super HD content is amazing on the UHD and series 8 TV's, I user over 100GB a month just on it :)

(Also Reven I used your XMLTVNZ for a few years, thanks heaps for that!!)

easier way to reset.

instead of going to Menu -> System -> Setup and having to rescan all your channels.  Go to Menu -> Smart Hub -> Reset Smart Hub.  Everything else is the same as I posted, but you skip the tv channel scanning.

Then turn off automatic updates :)

Gald I found this thread.. So, is it impossible to have Netflix and tvnz on demand installed at the same time, or can they somehow remain in place when you change regions in the smart hub?
Cheers
Julian

Which model are you using? If it is an older model, in my experience, I could download BBC iplayer fine, but like you the Netflix was unavailable. I have just upgraded 2 Sammies to newer models and it works perfectly for all UK apps including Netflix.
