Behodar: Has it been pulled internationally or just in the US? The local theatre in Whakatane still lists it as "coming soon" (22 January).

I think I heard that Sony NZ pulled it the same day as the US did..

It doesn't matter if you think the movie is silly, it's still suppression of the freedom of speech/expression that was sponsored by a state. As Voltaire said

"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it."

Technically a state didn't suppress it, the creator decided to pull it. Maybe the threat was a convenient excuse for Sony to pull an embarrassing creation.

First, there was some blow-back over Borat, but there was also some truth to that film. Unlike North Korea, Kazakhstan didn't have the wherewithal to do anything but complain.

Second, I fully agree with the reviews here. From the trailers it does look like a pretty awful example of a pretty awful style of American comedy.

Third, according to Sony, threats of violence were made if the film was shown. After what has already transpired, would that not qualify as terrorism?

And fourth, I am surprised that no-one seems to recall Team America: World Police, which slipped past with barely a ripple. Surely portraying the Dear Leader as a closet cockroach qualifies as getting 'personal'.

Team America on the other hand was funny.

Here is a thought that just occurred to me: Apparently the North Koreans have a dedicated facility for cyber warfare. Apparently, if the Sony experience is anything to go by, they are very good at it. To become that good, the cyber warriors have to have unrestricted access to the Internet. So they are technically savvy, in touch with the rest of the world, and very, very sensitive about any outside criticism. So are they following us here on Geekzone? Just a thought.

Dun Dun Dun!

If they are following us I would like them to know that I completely disagree with what they are doing and the way their country is being run is appalling. Their leader is a coward and a bully.

Also my name is Richard Bruce "Dick" Cheney and my address is 1126 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, Va.

Come and get me you bastards!

It's already leaked out on to the net as a web rip, would be good to see it on Crackle. To me it all seems over hyped and a big fuss over nothing, usually these types of movies are not worth the watch.

Cyber vandalism is what Obama called it. There were some LOL bits but mostly below average Rogen/Goldberg gutter humour.

As far as insurance scams go, Sony has pulled a doozy!

(all motion pictures are insured just like most things)

Dstarzero: After Sony caved in to cyber terrorism to north Korea,

More like "cyber-vandalism" than terrorism... Madonna called "terrorism" the leak of her latest album. Again, wrong word.

Dstarzero: these rumors of the movie being released in Crackle is a relief   http://nypost.com/2014/12/21/sony-plans-to-release-the-interview-on-crackle-for-free/

Available on YouTube, Xbox and PlayStation... Not Crackle.

I enjoyed the movie, better than pineapple express IMO.  I was laughing out loud a lot, james franco is good.  if it comes to cinemas I would recommend going to it if you like a good comedy (similar to geek him to the greek, forgetting sarah marshall, knocked up, this is the end etc)
