I'm not interested in getting them now cos I'll binge them all and have to wait 5 weeks for the next episode. At least waiting week by week will ensure good quality too.

Was hoping that I could stream via Neon today at lunchtime but have to wait until 8:30 and hope the bandwidth at Sky can handle being thrashed for an hour :P

So did sky have this ready for delivery at 1pm ,
Or has this been a marketing ploy to pretend they are up with the play
Meaning they were always going to screen at 8.30pm

This will haunt them for a while.

So if neon is starting at 8:30 anyway, then once again sky are treating streaming online customers as the bastard stepchild with a second rate product.

SD and late. And expensive. Yay neon.

That was going to be our plan too. But the last few evenings, we've noticed a degradation in our Internet, generally starting after 5PM. When this happens, we are getting between 3 - 6 Mb/s, which HBO Now doesn't seem to cope with.

I'm not sure if this has always been the case, because our other SVOD platforms seem to cope OK (although Hulu can be a bit temperamental at times). More diagnostics are needed on our end, but if it is a peak hour congestion issue, that would be a shame. It essentially makes HBO Now unusable at the time when we perform most of our TV viewing. And there is so much delicious content on that platform.

I've got the free neon trial but I'm just going to download it now. I thought Sky would release it at the same time as the US.  Ffs, this is why people pirate.

yes,  people pirate because they cannot wait 7 hours to watch a show.  (actually less since sky have announced they will show it earlier)

And if that is the reason they pirate, then I have little sympathy with them.

I get why people are annoyed when TV stations delay showing of something by months, or even weeks.  But a few hours??  The sense of entitlement from some people, about a TV show of all things, is ridiculous.

I don't think even Apple fanbois are this bad.

It's in 480p. Freaking SD. What year is this?
Delaying it for no good reason is not doing it any favours

If HBO was smart about it, they would release the same 4 episodes on HBO Go/HBO Now. That way people could actually watch the same episodes legally (without having to wait for them to trickle release them each week).

I believe this was a genuine technical glitch, rather than a "Rowan Atkinson Live (And Uncensored)" type of deception.
