There is one issue with CGNAT and geo unblocking that could perhaps be giving you some grief.
I have seen it mentioned elsewhere (not often though) as an issue and logically I can think it would be an issue - but cant find it mentioned on unblock-us or unotelly specifically.
I meant to mention it earlier but didnt want to confuse the issue - its also a relatively unlikely scenario.
But here goes....

As you probably understand - for the geo unblocker to work it needs to know where you are on the internet.
So when you try and access SBS on your laptop (to use your example), the DNS requests need to head off to the unotelly/unblock-us/dns4me DNS servers - and you have set your laptop to use these.
They also need to know that its you that the requests are coming from - so they need to know your current IP address and to be able to match that against your unotelly account settings. Once they have achieved that they can see you requested for SBS to be unblocked and the unblocking can happen.

With CGNAT (becoming more common - especially recently I understand) a group of consumers will appear to have the same IP address. CGNAT is a way for ISPs to use a pool of IP addresses amonst a larger pool of customers. For normal web browsing and internet access this is fine. But if another FLIP customer was using the same IP address and was also using unotelly and had the SBS requests switched off, its possible that their account settings may prevail and your settings may be ignored. Its my understanding this is possible - anyone is welcome to correct me if I am wrong.

You cold try signing up for a trial of DNS4ME or unblock-us and see if they work for you - guess the same thing could happen with them, but...

i can confirm i dont have the child lock thing enabled. what puzzles me most is that if i connect same laptop to internet via a different isp (or my cellphone as a wifi hotspot using packet data) sbs plays fine.

that makes me think my isp is the issue.

I still think it's worth signing up for a free trial with another proxy. Easy to do, doesn't cost anything, answers another question.

So I disabled then re enabled my wireless connection, and for some reason the aussie sites are now working again.

Has been ok for a week now. Fingers crossed thats the problem sorted,

after pretty much exhausting all possibilities with the unotelly help team (top notch I must say), I switched ISPs from flip to 2degrees.

No further probs.

wonder if they will prove cgnat to be the reason I couldnt access the aussie sites ungeoblocked and come up with a work around at some point.
