IMDB says that people that liked The Expanse also liked:

- dark matter (no surprise there)

- The Magicians (its good, I'm quite enjoying that one but not sure where its going)

- Killjoys (yeah, probably but its a bit too Lost Girl in outer space IMHO)

- Into the Badlands (some nice fight scenes in this one - and a big audience puller for AMC when it debuted but only 6 or 7 eps)

- The Shannara Chronicles (really enjoying this one and I've never read the books so no expectation)

nathan: The 100 seems like it's for teenagers

It might start off a bit tweeny, but by the end of the first season it has a body count to rival Game Of Thrones and by the end of season two it's extremely dark and some of the storytelling is very brave. They don't shy away from some really difficult issues. I'm really enjoying it.

i dont think the 100 is targetted, i think killing, murder and suicide are all in it.

sorry but ive watch 3 episodes on ST atlantis and i really think its corny. it feel plotless and the acting is plastic.

has anyone watched this new Crouching tiger movie? seems to get reasonable reviews.

Surprised no one has mentioned Battlestar Galactica yet! It's not on Netflix though I think

Edit: It's on Hulu

...tried SG atlantis, was just a bit meh.

How dare you!, watch the first one so you know what is going on and give it another try one of the best SCI-FI series out there, don't watch SGU as it ends on a cliff hanger unfortunately as it was canceled.

Slightly OT but I really liked Atlantis and never watched SGU until I ran across it on The Zone. It's not hard to see why it was cancelled. Unappealing characters, poor plots and a less than interesting premise. They should have stopped at Atlantis.

Some good suggestions to try here, cheers.

Yeah totally across The 100, brilliant.

Im really waiting on a second season of Marco Polo, the last season of Hell on Wheels, hopefully more Dark Matter.

Also outside of Netflix waiting for history to make the 4th season of Vikings.

There definitely will be another series of Dark Matter. Production started December 9th, 2015.

It was getting very good at the end, so much that I cried when they cancelled it.

Ive done dark matter (love it), did firefly and its movie (loved it), tried SG atlantis, was just a bit meh. Watched 2 episodes of farscape and gave up, basically everything seemed amateur. I considered Star Trek, but after being forced to watch this in the 70s Im a bit hesitant, although I enjoyed the latest 2 movies much more. Blake 7 rehash maybe, red dwarf makes me cringe now but loved it in its day. Dr who, the same thing in 60s/70s, forced to watch it.

I really like the firefly/dark matter stuff as its not so serious and overly sci fi with weird aliens etc. It seems more realistic even if thats not true.

Don't give up on Farscape just yet! Give it till Ep10! After the not so amazing start it becomes something really special, it is very rewarding if you give it some patience at the start. It's pretty out there, but if weird f'ed up aliens and crazy adventures (and the greatest villain ever!) isn't your cup of tea, give it a pass.

If you liked the new Star Trek movies I really doubt you'll enjoy any of the the series.

Battlestar Galactica, you'd probably like.

The Expanse is really good but not on Netflix.

Writing was bad and seemed like they grabbed the early Adama-Roslin conflict and tried to make something out of it for themselves and failed. Then the fact that the Colonel had negative charisma; Lou Diamond Phillips would have done so much better had their roles been swapped.
