I second Fanpass - when I used it to watch the cricket over the summer it was excellent. At $15 a one-day pass will save you a lot of mucking around. Rugbypass will work if you have a DNS unblocker or a VPN. You won't find an overseas provider streaming unblocked into New Zealand because Sky have exclusive rights. If you don't mind an hour delay, it'll be free on Prime at 8.30pm.

I also feel the NZ commentary adds a lot of value

Not if the commentator is Justin Marshall :P

Thankfully, there is a team. If it wasn't Marshall then someone else would be the weakest link in that team.

I signed up, Had to use a server in India as HK wouldn't work for me. First impressions are great, nice HD quality, just like watching Sky tv.

I see Rugbypass works for Apple TV too. I assume this is only for ATV4?

Its as legitimate as paying for Netflix NZ and watching Netflix USA, or watching BBC but not paying for a tv licence Rugbypass pay for the right to screen the game. Thye have screening rights for super15 mitre10 cup and the internationals, but not the 6 or 7 nations (can't remember which it is).

If you have an ipad theres an app which you can airplay/chromecast from. I haven't used the chromecast on it yet but airplay works.

And as has been debated extensively in other threads it is not clear whether this is legal or not - its a grey area that, as yet, has not been tested in a court.

The "justification" for viewing Netflix US content vs Netflix NZ is that the content is not available to be viewed or not available in a timely fashion. Which is, frankly, a BS answer given if the content was also available on Lightbox or Quickflix or Neon then the chances of people subscribing to two or more streaming services to get access to the range of all content that they want is pretty slim. And we know that Netflix US has been and continues to try to enforce the content owners rights which in itself suggests that the activity is not legitmate. Watching Top Gear via iPlayer given its availability in NZ only a week later, and given the BBC's (and the BBC's Trust Board and even Parliament) stance on trying to stop overseas watching (eg the removal of iPlayer as a global product) suggests in of itself that the action is not legitimate.

So what legitimate justification do you have for violating the terms and conditions of Rugbypass, and for violating the content owners rights (being SANZAR) and the party that has acquired the right to distribute in NZ (being Sky)? It cant be that you're unable to view the content legitimately in your own country, or that you cant view it in a timely fashion.

Ok this is my last post on this thread.

Firstly I take offence that you are inferring that I am stealing content. I am paying for content. Its an open market. The internet has opened up a world of choice. If not rugbypass, I could choose ESPN, livesporttv, Sky UK or fanpass for that matter (which I have used in the past ).

Your welcome to your moral stance on this matter and Im sure others agree with you.

As you have stated, this has been extensively debated in the past on numerous threads on this site.I have very quickly stop following these threads because what starts off as a how to information sharing forum ends up being another endless debate about its moral or legal standing.

Thank you. I've just tried using airplay from an iPod touch thats no longer used, and it works great.

I chose to buy a 12V pump off aliexpress for $20 rather than pay $120 in NZ for the same pump is that stealing?

If I had bought it off amazon for a similar price and used youshop because they don't ship to NZ would I be stealing? (I would essentially be saying I live in the states)

the whole region protection is rubbish and unenforceable.
