I only have my credit card to reload my gift card balance and to renew Prime. I remove the card because they will check the card for location when renting movies or music in some cases. Just confirming the card number is not enough.

I have my ASB visa on there with the shipito address as the billing address and prime music works. The echo was trying to upgrade me to music unlimited but that has stopped.
The web player works, I can add things from the music store to my library fine as well - and I dont have a DNS unblocker on this computer either.

Heres what I get when I go to music.amazon.com.
I see the play songs page. When I click on one it starts to play.

I go here, and it will play and has little p with a checkmark icons beside it. Still get the banner at the top trying to upsell me to unlimited but its all working fine.

So I'm revisiting this as I occasionally get emails from amazon music to listen to this or that and I click it and I get the screen that I showed above, enter detail as per prime and get re enter as error occurred . So Im thinking I probably need a virtual or actual usa credit card., seems amazon music unlike amazon prime/video doesn't like my cc. So any suggestions I only at the moment want it to sign up not to actually buy anything.
Make sure you don't have any credit card in your account. If you need money use a card to load your gift card balance and remove the card.

Ok deleted cc from account but still get "there was a problem with your submission please verify all areas below and try again" when I get the pop up from above

I use my youshop US address and I use amazon.com, which I think you mean when you say set to US
For devices like FireTV and Kindles, you need to remove and re-add your account once the default address and cc method have changed otherwise it "caches" the old settings.

If you go to Manage Your Content and Your Devices page you can see what country your account is set to.
