Right - is there any definitive answer on how to sort this out?

My new ANZ Platinum Visa no longer works, leaving me between a rock and an annoyed place!

PayPal doesn't like my card either, so I'm not exactly stoked about the result.

You used to be able to subscribe to Hulu via an American iTunes account, but I no longer seem to be able to.

Anyone?

This is how we've been doing it since January.

t0ny:

i pay for hulu using a US paypal account. The US paypal account lets you load an NZ card to it.

Can you or anyone else explain how you can load an NZ card into a US PayPal account?

Tried BNZ and ASB debit cards and neither work.

I'm having a bit of a nightmare since OneSmart changed. I've managed to figure out I can buy iTunes gift cards to keep TV subscriptions going through iTunes, but my US iTunes account is now stuck regions - as it won't let me change my region as there's an outstanding payment on the now defunct OneSmart card. It's a chicken and egg situation.

Can anyone offer any advice?

I found iTunes on the PC to be an issue. I read that it was a Windows issue, but who knows. Apple is happy to be on Windows as Apple is a minority, but maybe Windows wants to stay big? No idea. At home I am PC, Mac, iOS and it all now does what I expect it to do.

My Air New Zealand American Express card arrived today. Logged into my Hulu account and it was accepted as a payment method.

Do you use a dummy U.S address for this account?

dclegg:

We used to be able to use our NZ credit card (BNZ Visa), but when it was reissued last year Hulu would no longer accept it.

We currently purchase US iTunes credit using my daughters ASB debit card (as iTunes won't let me use my NZ credit card their either), and use that to pay for both Hulu & HBO.

@dclegg I just tried to register my new ASB debit card to my US iTunes account - worked on my Mac but when I looked at it on my iPad and popped in the security code it was asking for, it declined my card. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

@littleheaven Sorry, I have no idea.

I've not associated the debit card with the US iTunes account. I use it to buy iTunes vouchers as a guest from here. I then apply the voucher to my account using iTunes.

Oh, sorry. In a comment on page 1 of this thread you said you used your daughter's ASB debit card with US iTunes account with no problems. Maybe I misunderstood?

Sorry for not being clearer :-)

It is a rigmarole, and involves using her debit card to purchase (anonymously) iTunes vouchers, which are sent via email. I then used those vouchers to apply to my US iTunes account.

I didn't attempt to apply the debit card directly to my account, as I didn't want her to have the burden of monthly subscriptions to worry about (we have two; Hulu & HBO).

Oh, no problem. It didn't cost me anything for the debit card, and it'll probably come in handy on occasion. I think for now I'll just have to stick to purchasing Hulu vouchers from buyfrompowerseller. They've always been reliable in the past.
